Horne or Hardy

One of the big changes this year has to be Dwight Hardy getting the starting job over Paris Horne. Horne of course led the team in scoring is Sophomore year and played back end to D.J. Kennedy last year.

Hardy, coming in last year as a JUCO transfer, had a solid game off the bench but was inconsistent. Lavin has heavy praise for the kid when it comes to his shooting talent.

Through two games Hardy has been off...way off while Horne has been good in the limited minutes he's gotten. ( vs. St. Mary's 15 minutes 1/2 - 2points vs Columbia 22 minutes 8 points).

Question for everyone is if Hardy continues his cold streak and Paris has solid contribution off the bench does Lavin make the switch or does he keep Hardy in?

It's early, still.

Note how many shots Horne got off against St. Mary's? 2. In 16 minutes.  He didn't do anything out there for stretches, he was barely in the box score.  Paris needs screens. He's not going to generate many good shots off his dribble.  Hardy's in a slump but he can get his points (or at least he's better at getting them).

Horne for his defense.... if Hardy isn't making his shot from outside he's a waste... we need at least one deep threat in the game plus its obvious Horne works better with the zone

This might sound nuts at first, but it's true:

We needed Horne to beat Columbia. They were getting any open jumper they wanted.

Hardy can be a very good shooter, but if he's going to stay in the starting line up he'll need to contribute on the defensive end as well. He played no defense against Columbia.

Horne can't put it on the floor. That continues to hold him back. He def improved his 3 point shot, but this teams already lacks quality playmaking.

Maybe the answer will eventually be Boothe, DJ, Polee, Burrell and Brownlee.

And more strength. I cannot believe the number of offensive rebounds the team gave up.  They were good at rebounding last year, but that was a strength of Evans and Justin "Box Out" Burrell.

Agreed Horne is a better defender then Hardy especially for this zone. It'd be interesting to see Horne, DJ, Polee, Burrell and Brownlee on the court together if you wanna talk size and strength.

too bad none of them have any buisness bringing the ball up the court, with the exception of horne or dj on the fast break
