WOW--they scored 81 points.  i guess I can'T call the team the  gang that can't shoot straight.  Instead my new name for this team is the not ready for prime time players.  very depressing but like others noted here I do not see good things to come THIS YEAR.  Oh well only 10 months and 4 days until they roll out the b-balls for 2011-12.  being an old Brooklyn Dodger and Collingwood Magpie fan, the only thing to say again is "Wait until next year"

quote from newsday:

"How sweet was it when the buzzer sounded? "I'm not going to lie," Pecora said. "It's St. John's . . . Before the game, I said to the players, 'It's St. John's. They didn't recruit any of us. They didn't recruit me as a player or as a coach. I told them in one timeout when I was blind with anger that it's not OK to lose to them."

The Rams listened."

if coach k came in with this team at the beginning of the year he wouldnt be able to win with them either im not saying theyd be THIS bad but still theyd be a 9th or 8th place team at best

I was just thinking how could we possibly have allowed 84 points to this team. We basically sticked with the zone the whole game and it clearly wasn't working in the 2nd half. This game was disgrace but the defense was the biggest culprit. I know Lavin loves that pressure and the zone but maybe implement it more next year because we don't have the personnel for it. It sucks we have to wait more than week for another game because its painful right now.

you don't blow games like the st. bonaventure game (blowing two 10 point leads) and a game like this (blowing a 21 point lead and allowing two separate 16-0 runs) without a lack of spine.  im sorry, but there is just a lack of fight on this team, and that more than anything is inexcusable

Is it somehwat lavins fault, of course.  But when something is working, to lose a twetny point loss in the second half is squarely on the players' shoulders when thry are playing inferior competition.   Its about who can impose their will over the other.   We cant impose our will on anyone except the sisters of the poor...aka Drake.

SJU has to take the good with the bad. Lavin is a VG recruiter, but not a good bench coach. Team, at least last night, was much better with Stith at the point, and Fordham recognized that Hardy was the only outside threat. Lavin should have run plays for him down the stretch. JMO.

Stith is worse than Lawrence. Much worse.
