A humbling loss to Fordham forced St. John's to change its approach, from new coach Steve Lavin on down to his players. The result has been a five-game winning streak that has made the Red Storm the hottest team in the Big East -- and a confident one convinced it can make the NCAA Tournament.
"Now it's starting to click in," shooting guard Dwight Hardy told The Post. "Those losses early on helped us realize we need to step our game up. We knew we'd be playing high-level competition in the Big East."
St. John's faces a big measuring stick in its march toward March Madness tonight at No. 15 Notre Dame.
