Which players from this team do you feel have a legitimate shot at the NBA next year?
If things continue at this rate i think burrell, brownlee, and dj are the 3 most obvious choices. Dwight is having a great season but he might be a little undersized at the next level. Paris might be able to find a summer league spot some where with his tough D and strong work ethic.

DJ is a little undersized for the SF spot in the NBA and he wants to be a SG he has to improve his outside shooting. He's a good rebounder and has a good mid range game but he needs to get to the basket and improve his long range shot to be an NBA player. Brownlee has a very nice skill set but he doesn't really have an NBA position. He is too small for the four and I am not quite sure if he has the range or skill to be a 3. He could find a spot though because he is a scorer and can do a lot of things well. Burrell has an NBA body and athleticism but his skill set is not quite NBA ready. He needs to improve his jumped and add a few more post moves. All these guys have a shot but they have things they need to work on, Burrell and Brownlee have the best shots. Hardy would have to be a point guard and Horne is destined to play in Europe.

  In all honesty, i don't see anyone actually making a NBA roster next year.  I guess DJ or Brownlee would have the best chance.  I don't see it.

i agree on most points. i think it is to be noted that some players are having to play out of their "natural" position this year under lavin. dj has been our 4, brownlee at the 5. even though they have been finding good success i think if they were to play at their "natural" position they would shine even more. but obviously our team plays small due to our lack of skilled big men.

I don't watch much Nba but tonight I watched part of the Knicks/Suns.

Mark Jackson was the announcer and Mullin was on the studio halftime show.  A lot of good pub for St. johns.  "What a great job Lavin was doing".  Mentioning favorite SJU players including Marco Baldi etc.  We're going to be on the tip of the tongue of every sportsfan in no time.

From what they're showing now? Maybe DJ Kennedy or Dwight Hardy, but likely no one.  But if they can get into the postseason camps, scouts might see a different game than they've played. Hardy is a better shooter than his 3-point numbers indicate, and if he can develop into a more confident ballhandler/ point guard, he has some interesting skills. Though I think Europe for him.

DJ Kennedy needs to remind people that he can do it all... and also show that he can be a strong defender. And/ or backup ballhandler.

Burrell's got interesting athleticism, and we know he has a jump shot, even though the staff has him strictly in the post in these games. I don't know what position he defends, though; he seems a little small for the 4 in the NBA and definitely not quick enough for the 3. If Burrell elevates his rebounding game more than he already has, though... maybe he gets a long look.

I think Brownlee has the most ready stock at the moment. He possess intangibles that Burrell doesn't at this point with his outside shooting and ball handling.

I still think Burrell oozes potential and I know thats tough to think for a senior but physically he has all the gifts and he's getting closer to breaking out.

I don't think Dwight has the speed laterally to play PG in the NBA and I think he'd be an amazing player overseas in a top league.

Who knows thought its early in the season but for anyone to think that these guys don't get a look is crazy especially if they make a tourney run.

No doubt.  Non posters, Berry and Shelton Jones also mentioned.

Brownlee looks like an NBA player this year. He needs to stop picking up ticky tack fouls.

agree peter. i always thought of dj as more of wesley (especially in terms of the nba) and paris as jerel mcneal..both poor mans versions though

I think its fair to say they both possess some of those qualities. They will both need to keep developing and producing this season.

Its crazy how guys like Wes Matthews catch on in the NBA. He dropped 29 pts and 7-8 from 3 in the 1st half last night. Another guy  I remember thinking "how the hell is this guy in the NBA?" was Shandon Anderson, and he stuck around for 10 years and got a ring. Brownlee has the best chance at being 1 of these types imo
