ector, who stands 6-foot-1 and attends St. Raymond’s (NY), listed scholarship offers from Providence and Hofstra. The Playaz Basketball Club standout also named Arizona, Iowa State, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Stanford, and UMass as programs involved in his recruitment.
“No, not right now,” Rector said when asked if he has any favorites.
The strong lead guard has only taken one visited thus far, but he has a couple of other trips in the works.
“I’ve visited Stanford,” Rector said. “I’m scheduled to UMass and Pittsburgh, though. That’s coming up.”
As for when those visits will take place, Rector remarked, “UMass is next week and [for] Pittsburgh we gotta make a date.”
There are a few schools in particular who Rector feels are coming at him the hardest.
“UMass is really coming at me hard, Iowa State, Stanford,” Rector said. “Who else? Pittsburgh. All the coaches have been calling me. They only get one call a month so it’s really hard to tell who’s at the top and everything.”
Despite the fact that he remains open, Rector does have an idea of when he would like to make his college choice.
“I mean, I would like to make my decision before the end of the summer, but we gotta just see what happens,” Rector said.
Asked if he is waiting on any certain offer before making his pledge, Rector replied, “No, I’m just—[I want to] see what feels right for me, so there’s no [specific offer].”
