Me too. I think he'll make a strong 3 at that level.

Not likely to be drafted (tho could sneak into the 2nd round).   But the idea really is to get:  A) On a summer league roster and impress; then B) get a camp invite and prove your value.  Someone like Justin has the skills to help a team in SEVERAL areas - just the kind of player a coach likes to have down towards the end of his bench - someone he can plug in in more than one situation.

He's going to get on a summer league roster, at least.  He'll have the chance to prove himself and if he doesn't stick he has plenty of options playing professional ball in Europe, he can play.

What sucks is that he may not get the opportunity to show himself as an undrafted FA because of the impending lockout.

I think he's a second round pick. Improved dramatically last year.

I think Brownlee is a second round pick.  He's got a good frame and athleticism as well as range on his jumper.  He might be a little bit shorter than the NBA guys like, but I think he is a better real-world player than maybe he was represented in the all big east stats.  I thinknhe can be productive in a Bonzi Wells type of role.  Even if he goes undrafted, I think he'll make a roster.

I think he should pack his bags and head overseas. He's the type of player who could have a very long and successful career in Europe. Either way he will be getting a paycheck to play basketball. He's come a long way from Norm's bench.

Norm gave Brownlee his chance, same with all the guys on last years team. None of those guys would have been in the Big East had it not been for Norm. :)

Working out for NBA teams dramatically increases a player's value overseas in terms of what type of league he can play for which certainly increases his pay grade.

A lot of player's now are starting to play for the D-League too because NBA teams have an easier time plucking those guys up incase of injuries or stand out talent rather than buying out player's overseas. So if he or anyone else is borderline NBA its not surprising to see them stick around in the D-League despite a lower salary than overseas. A prime example is Marqus Blakely (Vermont) signed 3 yr non guaranteed deal with Houston Rockets.

Here's the problem.  Lockout means no summer league and could hurt the development or eliminate the possibilities for a whole class of borderline kids.

Freeman sucks. Wright sucks too. Neither are NBA players.
