I personally don't think it has to die if we add the right schools like temple and Memphis and stop making this thing all about football.  It is what it is at this point though.  Can't stop these presidents from making these types of decisions.

all you need to know about the big east's future is in this paragraph from the article...

The next potential departures hinge on what the Big 12 does once Missouri goes to the SEC. Will it add one? Or three? The idea that this Midwest conference that nearly collapsed entirely last summer will decide the fate of the Big East tells you everything you need to know about Marinatto’s leadership.

The problem is though, that none of the schools seem to want to replace marinatto as the leader.   Maybe they prefer being run into the ground.  It is certainly convenient for many of the schools.

The only place Notre Dame would ever go would be the Big 10. Anyone else is deluding themselves. There is just a good a chance of ND joining the WAC as there is of them joining the ACC.
