Local Schools Beat Syracuse....

....in drawing fans to MSG.  If the 11k is correct it looks like NY's team got beat pretty bad in attendance as they recently drew 8k with a top 5 team at the time.  If one of these local teams was top 5 they would have pulled in over 15k today.

SU drew 8500 to a Black Friday 5 PM game vs a California opponent. Yesterday's Saturday afternoon doubleheader featuring 4 local teams drew a couple thousand more people than that. So yeah, it's pretty clear who NY's team is. Merry Rakeem Christmas. PS You're my favorite horse ever.

Obviously not every place on earth can be as idyllic as Jamaica and not every city offers the same opportunity for cultural and intellectual endeavor as does Syosset. The rubes have to live somewhere though.

And 8200 two days earlier against for a 9:30 game vs a Virginia opponent.  Maybe they need to schedule a NYC team to draw a crowd to match their slogan.

St John's doesn't draw amazing because most of the students now don't live near Queens. It still is a commuter school but with the dorms now there are a ton of kids that go home for the holidays. (See: the student section during the Northeastern game). The students and fans will come out for the big games. Louisville, Georgetown, Notre Dame will get good crowds.
