I remember Donald Williams playing poorly at the point as a freshman for UNC, and Dean Smith saying that he specifically played him there to make him a better shooting guard.

Allan Houston

Choz - I have to agree 100%, I have been telling that to the kids I have coached for the past 10 years. Houston had such a great looking shot and his form was absolutely perfect.

Ray Allen is right there and he has one of the quickest releases I have ever seen. JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH baby..!!

They broke down rays shot on sports science and said it is so good because it is so consistent. His angle are always the same, his release point, etc. Each shot looks exactly like the last

Ray allen may be the best shooter I have even seen, but sometimes it looks a little flat.

I saw that piece on Allen.  The fact that he is always able to repeat his form is what, in large part, makes him a great shooter.  No different for pitchers in baseball.  Many attribute AJ Burnette's struggles, despite having great stuff (especially when he was younger), to not being able to repeat his delivery.  Contrast that with a guy like David Wells, who while not exactly being in great shape, could repeat his mechanics in his sleep (making his control impeccable).

Chris Mullin was the best IMHBO followed by Houston and then Allen.

This should make all the Harrison fans happy but Mullin's jumper wasn't that pretty. Now he shot great and he is my 2nd favorite SJU player of all time. But honestly he shot a "flick" shot with all wrist. It is the reason he was not a particulary great Pro three point shooter.

BTW I look at jump shots the way I look at baseball swings. You can be a great hitter w/o having a pretty swing but it is nice to watch a great hitter with a pretty swing.

He may not have made a lot of them but his career 3pt % is better than 60% of the guys on the top 50 3 pters made list.  43 guys have made 40% or more of their 3pt attempts all time in the NBA.  Chris 38%, 72nd all time.  Yeah maybe he wasn't a great 3pt shooter but he was very very good, bad form or not.
