An underrated aspect of coach Lavin. He really builds friendships with these kids that last. It is IMO his best quality as a coach and can allow him to build a really special bond with SJU players and fans. Certainly college basketball is about winning games, but the other aspects are what set programs apart. Hopefully success on the court followS for a long time.
You said it...winning games will lead to success but will come and go with talent. . .the other aspects you reference are what set you up for sustained success
