We need to get all over Triche and Fair and hope MCW's shooting struggles continue.

Southerland was just cleared and will play.  Not good for us.

About right IMO
“@LennRobbins: Johnnies are 13 and one half point underdogs.  The largest line if the day. Zone by 12 over cal”

“@LennRobbins: Cuse has sold more than 25,000 tickets for today's game”

Southerland won his appeal. I wish we were as smart as them. I wish we were half as smart.

Evidence of their "smarts"?

And yet, all are eligible to play. Which is the point. Do you think anyone cares that Williams shoplifted? They're in it for the bball.

Hopefully, this sham adds enough smoke to attract more negative attention their way.

Lately, Cuse has never taken the down trodden SJU program lightly.  While other top BE programs have blown out SJU, none have done so with purpose and enthusiasm shown by Cuse and their administration and coaches.  JB encouraged Devendorf's antics a few years back.  I sat close enough to their bench to see it.  Their fans love to gloat and dump on the SJU/NYC fans.  The downstate versus upstate thing plays into it.

Basically, they just despise SJU and do not want to ever see the Johnnies gain any ground on them.

I hope our Californian coach has his team up for this game.  The Johnnies are up against an all out effort from Cuse.  They have to go into this game with their minds on getting every rebound and every loose ball.  Then hope Harrison hits 80%.  He's due for one of his better shooting days.

Well said.  Basketball is the only hold they have on anything in Ny. They certainly do play with an edge against us.  It is time we start taking it a bit more personally as well.  I hope their move to the ACC is the precursor for Boeheim's retirement and continued downward spiral of their program.  Win or lose, I'd just hate to see the same blowouts that everybody has come to expect, except if it's on our end.

As far as today's game goes, the strategy remains the same.  Stop dribble penetration and rebound.  Make them take bad shots to best you.  Do that and we are in it til the end.

I think that entire post is nuts. They don't despise us. They don't even consider us a rival. And we aren't one. Syracuse despises Georgetown, Uconn and Villanova. We are an afterthought. It has nothing to do with their administration, and everything to do with ours.

Poison - how many Cuse games at MSG have you attended? If you are SJU fan and attended the last three home games you would understand my post.

I think Cuse takes special pride in "owning" the Garden.  They take the New York's Team thing seriously.  And, yes, they get up for us, while we seem to always be intimidated by them.  Very frustrating.

We ARE getting better...I know we are not there yet, but if we can keep out team together I am glad that we still have the games against them because next year will be better...I think I know how the Brooklyn Dodgers fans feel, but Lavin is recruiting the right people and I think we are close.
