Jahii Carson may well be the best PG in the country next season.  He was close THIS year.  REALLY surprised he didn't come out, given the weakness of this draft.  I think he'd have been the 2nd PG taken after Burke.   If you didn't get a chance to see him last season, try and catch an AZ State game on the tube.   The kid is something REALLY special.    And 7'2 250 lb teammate Jordan Bashynski, who got 10 pts/6 rebs as Jr. last year, is back, after blocking 120 shots to lead the Pac 12 (only 13 less than Chris Obekpa's nation leading 133).

Great job Redstormy80, thanks for doing this.

Nash has been a beast.   But with Moe and Jakarr we can't really complain.
What we could've used is better guard play/more depth.   This year we finally have it but guys like Tharpe, Mack, Reinhardt etc would've been helpful these past two years.   Omar too.

I think the kid meilke was getting some decent minutes at SMU I believe. It was either him or bernandini. I know I got both names wrong

What happened that kid Michael Perez that supposedly committed to us. I may be getting his name wrong also.

Perez was at UTEP getting good burn and scoring around double digits I'm pretty sure. He sense transferred though and am not sure where.

Not Meikle.  That kid fell off the face of the earth I think.

It worked out for us in general with regards to those prospects.  Carson wasn't coming here for lack of trying.  Kid wanted to stay in the west.  Gathers punked and went to Baylor.  We all know about Baylor.  We aren't going to win them all, but we won our shares from that group.  Can't blame Tharpe for going to Kansas, but I don't think he will ever be a star there.  Good list overall though.

Yeah it was Bernardi at SMU. He only averaged 3 points in 12 minutes on average.

Actually Meikle went to Hampton. His numbers look ok accept for the 3 point average.

Agree - he actually had a pretty decent frosh season.   Had a really nice game early in the season against a decent Richmond Spiders team:  14 pts, 10 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.    Hampton played him at both SF AND SG last year - at 6'8 (and now up to 210), he's a heckuva mismatch for the MEAC....

Too bad he wasn't really a freshman.  Remember he was in the 2011 class.  Thought something happened to him when he went to Hampton.

Props to Coffey for finding his info.  Maybe I spelled his name wrong but I couldnt find anything and since he missed last year I already wrote him off.

Moose, are you saying Jarkarr wasn't really a freshman, too?  :)   5th year at a top prep school, vs. redshirting at a college.  Meikle sat and grew an inch and put on 25 lbs.

I knew someone would bring that up.  Yeah I would say that.  He's a year older physically.  It also will play into how many years Karr plays at STJ.  So yes.

This list used to be made up of All Americans and future NBA draft picks. It's nice to see the tide turn. Only Carson is an All American in this group.

I actually almost went back and edited my post, after looking up Meikle at Hampton's official site.  You're 100% right.   The "kid" turns 22 next month (born July 21, 1991)....
