Maybe if Metta brings all his charity work to NYC and comes to campus to help out, he gets back in the University's good graces. I'm sure it's a long shot, but I would like the school to recognize the guy a little bit.

I also really like Lavin welcoming Meta via Twitter and making the Stjbb connection.

I love Ron Artest the player. One of my all time favorites. He was hard working, and unselfish at a time when we had two of the most selfish "stars" in the program's history garnering all of the attention.

That said, the University doesn't know what he'll do at any given time because he's mentally ill. Bringing him here now will probably become a distraction more than anything else.

I hope I'm wrong, but seriously, what were the Knicks thinking?

Very little money fo one of the best defenders in the league who Kobe and co loved havin on they team.  And who Laker fans are sad to see leave (chk the boards).

Soft team just got a lil less soft.

If they can find room for K-Mart in addition to Artest those are two players other teams will hate going up against.

Definitely need more toughness on the team. LBJ wont be man handling Metta. K-Mart is a must get.

Their toughness hasn't diminished.

Just because Artest isn't 25 doesn't mean he isn't still a valuable piece. Kobe swears by him, this guy is in incredible shape and as strong as an ox. Who cares if he's 33? He's on a 2 year deal for basically the vet minimum. I can't think of a more perfect complement for Melo at the other forward spot. I don't know how much you guys abide by advanced stats, but metrics rated him as just as productive a defender as Iman Shumpert last year, playing for one of the worst defensive teams in the league. He can de the post and the perimeter. This move was a complete no brainer. It doesn't matter that it isn't 2005, because he isn't being asked to play the role he was playing in 2005, neither will K-Mart, and we couldn't get these guys as valuable role player for next to no money if it were 2005. Ray Allen ain't living in 2005 anymore either, but the Heat don't pick up that old man and Tim Duncan is lifting his 5th championship trophy.

Personally, I think it makes watching Knicks games all the more exciting.
