Now that we've just completed the annual exhibition portion of our schedule, I think the time is right to delve into a little Johnny history.

In the 2002/2003 season, our first exhibition game on 11/8 was against the Harlem Globtrotters at Alumni Hall.  Unfortunately, I missed it.

Do any of you guys have any recollection of this game?  My son and I are interested in how it went:

What was it like?
Was it just straight basketball?
Did the trotters run all the gags and do their normal show?
Did we play the part of the Generals and just chase their weave until allowing them to finish with a trick play at the basket?
Who won?
Score?
Did we use the trotter house refs or have regular Ncaa officials?
Any highlights or lowlights you recall?
etc., etc.?

No recollection is too small and any incite is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
CA

I was there at the game was a disappoint to those who came to see a Globetrotter "performance" as they played it straight up.  It was a silly idea that was more akin to playing one of the AAU teams made up of former college players like the Phillips 66ers or the Athletes in Action teams.

I lost a fortune betting against the Globetrotters...I thought the Generals were due.
