I think what scares people is the timing of the missed Youngstown State game.  That would have been the first game of the second semester, and, consequently, a full year of eligiblity would have been used up.

Exactly...

Plus Felix being activated

Yep

That does not worry me as much. As discussed Lavin does odd things with personal and lineups.
The previous suspension and his early season struggles worry me. Even if everything is just related to his mother's health, people have transferred for much less reasons. The earlier suspension is really what would worry me.

So you keep saying previous suspension.  Are you saying this past game was a suspension and not a player going home to be with a sick mother?

No, didn't want to confuse this absence with his supension. I guess I did that anyway. I just meant if the suspension earlier in season never happened, this absence would not be worrysome

Thank you for clarifying your statement.

I tried warning you guys not to worry. I said this after the first unfounded Sheed transfer scare and I'll say it again, don't try to get into the mind of an 18-year old.

Not good enough, wouldn't have played, disappointing."

That's not so bad and mostly factual.  I recall a general positive tone to the thread.  Also, posters might have politely pointed out that Stith didn't become Allen Iverson, but I don't think he was summarily slammed.

Now Benedict Wiggins, he got hammered.

Now that all is seemingly right in the world, I predict:

SJU: 77
Col: 62

Jordan scores a dozen with 5 dimes in his return.

St. John's should blow this game wide open and I think it will, but this could be a classic trap game....Columbia  is a smart, well-coached,good-shooting team and St.  John's looking ahead to Big East season and Xavier...Columbia should need Jim McMillan, Dave Newmark,  Ricky Free, Eliot Wolfe, and Tweedy Byrd to hang w storm,  but watch out.  Rooting for St. John's and so is Coach Chiles, but don't tell anyone at Morningside Heights.

Columbia's game versus Mich St is a preview of this game.  I do not mean we are good as State but we have similar styles in the transition game.  Columbia took the air out of the ball and "held" State to their lowest points scored of the season.  It was early in season and State was probably anxious in this type of game but won in the end.  We gave faced slow down teams already and that should help.  We need to pressure their guards and keep fresh legs on them.  To beat them by them by 15+ we need to have a lead at half time or expect a Bucknell type game.  If we cover the 3 as we did versus Excuse, we should win by the 15+.

Glad we are not wearing uniform tops like NBA on Christmas--UGLY
