he is not going to be able to get into the lane and athletic teams that press him are going to be a nightmare. The issue really is strength at this point. He is going to struggle but definitely the best player to watch on this team.

No doubt the good teams will pressure us & try to wear down Mussini. Not sure, who can help him at the point. Some suggest M'v, but to date I find his handle suspect, although I value his hustle & spot up shooting potential.
Mvouika reminds me of Reggie Jessie.

Oh please, let's hope not. We need players that improve over time.

He is a senior so doesn't apply. And Reggie Jessie as a soph and Junior was meant as a compliment

He's shifty.  Just need to free him up a little like a slot receiver.  Screens, ball movement, shot-fakes, etc.   He's not going to blow by anyone.

Agree, appears to have spot up capability.

Unfortunately he is the primary ball handler which is going to be a problem this year. BTW I think he is quick enough but again it is strength that will be a real issue

Oh, I think he is also a capable ball handler. Solid and good strength, plus a big guard.

I don't know who all the players are yet, let alone what year of schooling they're in.  Yes,  Reggie did have his moments before he went sour.

Freddy's teammates must come to the rescue at the first sign of trouble. If the ball moves fast it could be something the offense could exploit. of course Freddy must get rid of it fast. If Freddy is to make any money wouldn't it be at the point?

He is eerily similar to Reggie Jesse in almost every way.  Maybe a tad less athletic.  I like his game when he's calm and deliberate, but he gets into trouble when he tries to rush or do too much.  I guess he really doesn't have much of choice given the personnel the team has this year.

We all know that he's not a natural point guard. However, since the first two exhibition games, he's gone from Heath Orvis to Dwight Hardy, and yes, I'm fully aware that I'm insane for making that comparison. Hear me out. (I'm not trying to say he's as good as Dwight Hardy)

BUT, he's playing the role of lead guard, which isn't his position, and he's distributing, scoring when it makes sense to and he's been able to handle the backcourt pressure. It's early, and Corey Sanders of Rutgers will be a healthy test for him, but I think he's shown the doubters (like me) that despite acting like a pouty child against Sonoma, he's carried himself well, and he's made smart decisions. Considering that we've seen a lot of young guards play reckless, score-first style of basketball, I find his addition to the program refreshing.

Once he learns to dribble with both hands, hits the weight room and, IDK, friggan eats something, he's going to be a very, very good 4 year player.
Can I get a Hallelujah!  :)

I think he's a far more capable 3 point shooter than Jessie, but Jessie was a very good passer, and I recall him having a better handle.

Point forward skills, Jessie really not a great shooter with that set shot of his. Could pass though.

M'vouika played last night like I expected him to coming into the season. Like a smart, saavy veteran presence out there. He doesn't rush anything (if anything sometimes he may be a little too slow in making things happen) and he seems to have good court awareness. I liked a few of his drives to the hoop where he set the defenders up and just ended up laying it in himself but still had the option to dish it off at the last second. Not sure if he'll get away with that in BE play but last night was the kind of veteran presence I expected from him.
