Nobody knows why he punched the cop has anybody heard the full story.

Maybe it was self defense or sticking up for somebody in his family he didn't get suspended from the team or was he put on probation by the law.

Give the kid a second chance

Yeah, I'm sure it was a noble cause, a good Samaritan type of thing, most likely in the wee hours of the morning, defending the honor of some damsel in distress... one could and should also surmise that there was no alcohol involved, usually in these types of incidents it never is.   ANYWAYS, who cares about all of that...

Good thing is that he is visiting!!! We no longer have to worry about not getting visits.  We have visits and visitors are visiting us... Its all good

Wow that's huge. Matt A is a straight up killer in the transfer game.

Not to jump ahead here, but assuming we get both, does that last schollie go to Kostas or Livingston? Or both and Darien is out?

It seems Livingston is main target after Simon & Clark, but there is competition for him.

If we were to get all 3 of those transfers or 2 of 3 and kostas i think this "class" could be viewed as top 10 in the country. By "class" I mean all of the new players seemingly coming in (owens, lovett, ponds, ahmed, freudenberg) + transfers and/or kostas

Ok.  A pending felony and 3 pending misdemeanors.  I assume this means the charges either get dropped by the next court date on June 3, or he cops a plea without jail time.  Not sure how he shows up in August if he's on track to stand trial during the first or second semester.

Sorry but you don't get to add in Lovett and Owens (count toward last years recruiting class) in any raking service except maybe your own.

I am genuinely surprised how many of you think the program should go after a kid who punched a cop.

What if Sean had felt that way about Will Hunting after he hit a cop? :)
I was involved in a malay while I was younger where a friend hit an undercover cop in the cesspool that is Newburgh, NY. He got his ass handed to him by the judge, but was a good kid that just got caught in a horrible situation of dozens of people fighting, police dogs running around unleashed biting people, and people attacking others while the police were arresting them. Point is, it's not black and white.

A poster from the other site said Ben Carter might bounce from UNLV.  5th year grad student. A kid like that who accepts his role as a big and rebounds and defends can go a long way to legitimizing next year's squad.

I hear you.  Things do happen.  I'm a defense attorney lol.  I give arguments for justification and leniency all the time.
I'm not saying he's definitively a bad kid or that he shouldn't be offered any second chances in life.

I'm just saying the program comes first.  And if this was Lavin, I'd say he's putting the program at risk.  This could easily be a kid who never makes it to campus.  Or does, and then screws up again.
And he might not too.  Maybe it is an isolated incident.
But why take the chance?

You don't have a RIGHT to play college basketball.
It's a privilege, bestowed on those whom the schools feel deserve it.

But regardless of what I think of Livingston, it would be a huge influx of talent if Matt A gets these two to commit.

No gurantees they'll be all conference players.  Who knows.  But at least we'll be playing with a full compliment of high D1 talent.
You couldn't say that last season.
Lovett Ahmed and Ponds, along with Yakwe, Sima, Owens, Simon, and Clark .. that's a real rotation if there all here in '17-18

Point is, it's not black and white.

Just so we have the facts straight, at least as the police see them:

The athlete, Anthony Livingston, became combative towards Jonesboro police officers as they responded to St. Bernard's Behavioral Health. Livingston was charged with battery of a law enforcement officer and arrested on several other crimes, according to court documents.

According to a probable cause affidavit, police were dispatched to the health facility Friday when they were confronted by Livingston.

“Officers attempted to calm Livingston and figure out what was wrong with him,” the affidavit stated.

The affidavit stated Livingston was irate and that he would “break their necks” if police tried to stop him from leaving the building.

An officer then pulled out his Taser and told Livingston “that he would be tased unless he followed commands.”

At that time, Livingston charged the officer and punched him in the throat, breaking the Hyoid bone in the officer's neck.

The officer, identified as Tyler Wilson, remains in the hospital. His condition is not known.

Livingston then ran from the building, across Johnson and into a field next to Centennial Bank Stadium.

Livingston was then arrested after being hit with the Taser by another Jonesboro officer.

The affidavit also states that Livingston threatened 2 people at St. Bernard's before officers arrived on scene.

Well if we give out all the ships, and for some reason no one transfers out after after next year, then this isn't on Slice if he don't get any recruits for 17. I'm not saying that I don't like it, just saying he can't do his job without and ships.

How long are we supposed to wait for Slice to bring a recruit in? I'm content with where the recruiting is headed. Not thrilled, but content. What is Slice going to do in the future that he isn't doing now?
