We owe Duke a game down there, so it can't be them.  I don't think Mully will want to play Alford, who he's friends with.  So UCLA is probably out also.  STJ doesn't have too much trouble getting big games because the 4garden affords good exposure, and at 8-24 last year, we don't exactly instill fear in the hearts of opponents.  Correct me if I'm wrong about this though.

I think the OOC schedule will end up being pretty good, between the Battle for Atlantis games, Cuse in the Dome, Minn on road (I know they were bad last year, but perhaps they are somewhat better) and other good opponent or two.

The Bearcats have been among the very worst teams in D1 bball for some time now.

I think they had a foreign player beat up a student pretty badly a few years back.

8-22 this past year, 5-11 in the America East.

They did not have a single senior on their roster, so with everyone presumably back, they'll probably be at least somewhat better.

Yes - which is why when Broadus got in trouble (after the one really good year they had), it got so much attention.  You had a string of incidents - the Serbian kid beating up the student from LI, the academic issues, the crimes committed by certain players (drugs, theft, etc), and professors being told to look the other way.  I think it was a few of the professors who started the whistle blowing process.

While we're on the topic of America East basketball.  Did you guys see Stony Brook play Kentucky?  It was humiliating for the conference.

I only found it humiliating for the America East.  Business as usual for the Sec.

We will not be playing a marquee out of conference game at MSG this year.

We will start a home and home versus UCONN in 2017-2018 season, probably on road with Syracuse being home.

Why is that ? Getting a big time team would sell tickets and make money. Ohio state, Michigan, or an ACC team would do well.

Sell tickets for who?  The opponent?

I get that you can't stand the influx of Cuse fans when we play them at MSG.  And I have no doubt it will be the same thing when we restart the UCONN series.
But don't you want to see us play an exciting team we don't normally see in person?     Michigan State, Indiana, UCLA, Gonzaga... I don't care.   It's not like those teams will pack the place like Cuse does.

We rarely play B12 teams.    Wouldn't Kansas or Texas  like a nice Sunday in NYC in January?   I'm sure they would.

While I also can't stand influx of Excuse fans, it was great to have then so upset last December at MSG.  I feel same about the Cons but a win and all that revenue for SJU is most enjoyable.
