Expect more good news today, #SJUBB fans...as the reinforcements continue to commit to Mullin's vision in Queens @StJohnsBBall

Should be a pleasant morning.

Arizona transfer Justin Simon has committed to St. John's, source told @CBSSports. The buzz is officially palpable in Jamaica. #SJUBB

Thx to all the schools that recruited me. My next chapter has me in an Empire State of mind. Happy to be part of the Saint John's family!

Great signing. Kid looks like a damn racehorse.  Wonderful attitude and a clear view of his mission at St John's.

Now let's wrap up Livingston on April 28th, and then we can turn our primary focus away from recruiting for awhile and concentrate on player development and coaching up a young but talented group for results on the court!

Johnnies have a lot of small guards who can score, a big athletic, versatile dude like Simon could be someone who really fits in well

Welcome aboard Justin!

Ironic that more than likely we got this guy because of Rawle going to Arizona.  Personally I'm happier with how it worked out for us.

Who is this guy "slim" on Twitter? From PSA cardinals?

"Johnnies have no options but to bring in foreigners and transfers"

I am sure main PSA guy, Munch Williams, won't be happy with "Slim" :)
I wouldn't worry about him.

Kind of true it seems. I'm happy about Simon but really Ponds, Lovett and Yakwe (maybe not 100% sure he was top 100) have really been the only true top 100 HS kids Mullin and co have been able to sign. Is this going to be the norm going forward? Seems like we're struggling to land a bunch of our targets. Just playing devils advocate here. I love the transfers we've been able to get.

In 2017, would you rather be working two kids out of high school into the rotation or Simon and Clark? We just had a year of watching our freshmen (Mussini, Ellison, Yakwe, and Sima) punished on the court by older, more mature, more experienced players. Simon and Clark will be those older, more mature, more experienced players, and they will be playing for us.  We will still be able to add at least one impact 2017 kid, and possibly more. Rosters don't stay static in college ball in this age of easy transferring and kids wanting playing time.

Watched the highlight video in that article. Don't think I've ever seen a highlight video of a guard that had more defensive highlights than that

“It was the whole staff, but Matt was the main guy,” he said. “That staff could’ve been anywhere, I would’ve chosen where they were at.”

A testament to how invaluable this staff is.
