I think we can be ok without him, but having an inside presence on offense is something I'd have liked for this season.  We lost CJ who did help in that department, but Livingston would have been quite a bit more of an impact there.  Now it all depends on how Sima and Yakwe progress on offense and what Owens can offer inside.

And being fortunate to avoid any of interior guys being injured. We're a bit thin there as we now stand.

I'd like to see a 3 guard lineup

Very difficult to play that lineup in a major conference when most of the guards are small. Perhaps the following season with Simon and others it will be more of an option.

Disappointing turn of events. He seems like a good glue guy that could have given 20 minutes of physical play and relentless rebounding. He would have gone a long way helping Yakwe, Sima, Owens, and RF learn to battle down low. Every team needs someone like that.

This team is so skinny and weak.

Agree. With all the 5th yr transfer guys why no backup plan? Heard Uconn had a decommitt from a 6'10 C Zach Brown, thou would obviously not be immediately eligible.

Have to agree with some of the above posts. Livingston situation is definitely dissapointing.  The amar move back in the fold would be down right perplexing.  Taking amar back and filling that 2017 ship is just another sad sign that we really aren't confident with that class at all. Also, if we go that route why not take kostas? All the whispers of him leaning our way and then zach b saying he is backup plan to Livingston yet here we are? Kostas has always been a high ceiling guy but now he is shooting up the rankings. 247's final rankings have him higher than ponds and freudenberg, would be our highest ranked HS kid. Also got good reviews on the recent world team.  Even if there are questionable academics why not take a shot on a kid that talented rather than bring back a guy in amar who hasn't shown much in the way of being a consistent big east caliber player.

Not sure if it would be a great look for the staff to presumably push a kid out because we want to upgrade that ship just to strike out then ask him to come back after we sent out an official press release that he was leaving.  Whole thing seems a bit off to me.

Brown is a 2017 recruit.

I agree....  Take a chance on Kostas, unless there are some info on him that we're not aware.  I've noticed his stock has respectively risen, per Rivals (he wasn't amongst their top 150, but now he's #114), Scout (#99), and 247 Sports (#52).  None of those ratings may not mean anything when it's all said and done, but I'd rather take my chances on him, than to bring back a player who was practically moved to make room for another scholarship.

If not Kostas or anyone else new to the roster, then pocket the scholarship.

Oops. Thanks. That is why I said he would not be immediately eligible.  ;) :)

Agreed. But I would like to see them get out and run, put some pressure on the defense with our quickness. A lineup of Lovett, Ponds, Ahmed, Freudenberg and Yakwe would be interesting

Kostas is not worth it. It is laughable that he is ranked at #52 by 247. His last name is carrying him, but his brother is a genetic anomaly.  I don't see the high ceiling others do.

Mismatch goes both ways. Tough for a bigger guard to cover either Lovett or ponds.

If only there was a 235 lb grad transfer nearby
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Time for Slice to call Rosco Allen after his flirtation with the NBA combine results in goose eggs

In theory, that lineup could work and wouldn't be as small as the one I was contemplating in my prior post (Ahmed at the 3).  In conference play, I think a Lovett-Ponds-Mussini lineup would be very small and have to be really good offensively to paper over the lack of size/rebounding you'd have in that scenario.

Depending on the opponent, I would also like to see that Lovett, Ponds, Mussini trio. Mussini needs to take 1000 3s a day to get ready for next year. If he works at it, he can get open 3s all day with Ponds and Lovett penetrating and kicking out. Gotta put the work in though. Now

Slice is still awesome. Even if he doesn't actually land a single recruit. He has an awesome nick name. That's enough for me.
