Any recent news on Amir? AAA is big so he really has a career coming. Can't we get someone to have him post updates. He's a guy just like us ; it would be super to hear from him on his progress.
He's pitched 12 innings in AAA thus far with 8 walks, 5 hits, and 3 runs allowed. He has 90 innings on the year and probably has a hard cap of 160 innings, so figure ten more starts.
It's difficult to predict his timeline since the Reds promoted the three 23 year old lefty starters they got back from KC in the Cueto trade (two with high end stuff) and they a have a ton of 23-26 year old former first and second round picks -- not to mention their former ace-apparent, Homer Bailey, is back from a long layoff from Tommy John. You never know how that will go. My guess is he either breaks camp with them next year or is called up in June next year if they can wait to avoid Super Two designation and keep a year of control.
