Makes sense, UNLV needs to fill an entire roster pretty much.

Off-topic, is that Zach Brown in your avatar?

I think this is still too high of a level for him. He should be playing in a lower level D1 conference. If UNLV has a depleted roster, he's likely going to be in the same position he was in last year. I would like to see him go to school like St.Francis. He needs to get playing time, but he also needs to play on a complete team with a point guard that can set him up.

Interesting. I didn't even know we were involved with him.

Given Brown's recent criminal charges, my guess is Brown has a better chance of playing Rysheed Jordan in a Penn League match up over a Big East conf game MSG..

Good for Jones if he ends up at UNLV and gets some playing time.

Might be a little too ambitious for him, but the Mountain West is nowhere near as good as it was a few years ago. Could be a nice landing spot for him if he'll get playing time, exposure and won't be severely overmatched. We'll see.

I get a laugh how you guys are acting like Christian Jones isnt a good player, when he finally got some REAL minutes last season he produced fairly well with 8.4 ppg and 5.2 rebounds,he is just what UNLV is looking for a guy who can give us some extra post help at the PF spot plus he is athletic and a Sr,people act like UNLV isnt in good shape after all the turmoil of losing our players to the NBA draft and transfers plus losing the ex-coaches 4 recruits,Marvin Menzies brought in assistants Andre LaFleur,Rob Jeter and Eric Brown who have major recruiting connections all over, west coast, midwest is Jeter, east coast & Canada, plus Menzies is also International, this is a top notch staff and UNLV is already gaining attention from top recruits,UNLV landed 6'11 center Dembele a 4 star 16 ppg 11 rebounds 4 blocks, the 6'11 Ukranian Georgie is no joke this dude can shoot outside and drive for dunks, they got 5 star 6'8 athletic PF Dwayne Morgan back and he will improve under this staff,4 star Sophomore 6'4 Poyser was one of the best Canadian players a year ago, they brought in PG JoJo Mooring the Player of the Year in JUCO ball averaged 26.6 ppg, they landed 2 Chicago 3 stars in defensive stopper 6'7 Ben Coupet and combo guard 6'4 Zion Morgan 15 ppg, then 6'7 Tyrell Green was one of the top SF 3-point shooters in JC 50% and can play the post,6'6 SG/SF Kris Clyburn from JC is a solid defender, shot 60% and 50% 3's 14 ppg 6 rebounds, they got Sr transfer SG 6'4 Uche Ofoegbu 9 ppg 5 rebounds, plus they got the 2nd top PG in the NCAA last year in assists 8.1 for 2017 in Jordy Johnson who played for Rob Jeter, walk on Jaylan Ballou was underrated in the Cali area 17 ppg 9 assists,2 more scholarships open for 2016,Christian Jones would be a perfect fit for UNLV and bring some Sr toughness, plus UNLV is still trying to get Canadian scorer 6'5 Tyrell Gumbs-Frater 18 ppg 6 rebounds 4 assists,by 2017 UNLV will pick up a couple more 4 stars, maybe even a 5,this program is on the rise under Menzies crew

We won one BE game last year, and Christian Jones would have been our only senior. STJ is almost always at its best when it has seniors. Our coaching staff was okay with him leaving.

Thing is, most of us here gave him credit for improving. He did improve. I don't think anyone would deny that. I hope he signs w UNLV and has a great season for you guys. However, if you think hes going to be Dom Pointer, I wouldn't hold my breath. Jones doesn't play defense. He doesn't know how to. He doesn't box out, and he often doesn't react to what the other team is doing.

Some of that he can improve upon. We'll see.

To be fair they acted like he wasn't a good player when he was here. Then he got worse when he left, as all SJU players do, because of addition by subtraction. Also, try paragraphs, you'll seem like less of a sociopath.

Jones might be a good bench piece for UNLV this season. If there fans expect that instead of something crazy then he definitely could live up to that standard. Good luck to him.

He would've been a really nice veteran presence for this year's squad. SMDH. Good luck to him in Vegas.

So now he is a rebounding machine. His first two years here he couldn't get a rebound in a phone booth.

Weird. It's almost as if players get better as they mature mentally and physically.

Veteran presence is ridiculous. I wish CJ well but glad he isn't here. Our last few guys on the bench need to serve a purpose. A 3rd PG a 3rd center who can come in and play defense for a few minutes is what our 11/12th guy needs to be.
We don't need A 5th year senior who is looking for a pro contract who may score 10 points but give up 18. We don't need a 6'9 European who thinks he is stretch 4 but can't shoot or play defense. We don't need a guard who is slow, can't get off a shot, or guard anyone .
Everyone can get better. Everyone who tries usually does. Some guys don't belong playing in the big east.
A guy like geno Lawrence or that Dominican center we had a few years ago who was awful but could serve a purpose could be useful.
