Cuse AD Throws Jab
« on: September 15, 2016, 12:55:29 PM »
Disrespectful, classless, and immature. The Cold War continues, I hope we continue the streak even more now. My level of hatred for this program is unmatched:

Individual game prices are set up until the start of the season as follows:

 Premium Games: Georgetown, Duke
•Tier II: Pittsburgh, Florida State, Virginia, Georgia Tech
•Tier III: Cornell, Miami, Boston College, Wake Forest, Louisville,
•Tier IV: Colgate, Holy Cross, Monmouth, South Carolina State, Boston University, North Florida, Eastern Michigan, St. John's

If SJU did all the things that the Cuse did they would have the death penalty.

But since the Cuse controls the media the NCAA looks the other way.

Coach Jim - suppose to be retiring soon but all these recruits still want to go there I guess the boosters have the truck load of cash available,

Syracuse makes money for the NCAA. That's why they got a slap on the wrist. A dirty program for sure. Has been for ages, but I don't understand how you've come to the conclusion that Syracuse basketball controls the media. They go to the final four, and that makes money, but when there is a negative story about like there have been recently, we never stop hearing about it.

Bill Parcells is the last head coach that I can think of who has had absolutely no interest in appeasing the media. Boeheim, love him or hate him, says whatever he pleases with zero regard for how anyone feels about it. When was the last time anyone did big story on Jim Boeheim the great guy? He's a dick. That's what the media thinks of him.

To the contrary, we recently fired a coach who was full of shit.

What are you upset about? Do you think they've slighted us? I think Cornell is ahead of us in level importance because their fans have an hour drive to the game. Ours - 5 hours, easy. I've seen STJ games there. We simply don't travel to that game. We haven't in ages, if we ever did.

So its your opinion that the Cuse AD couldve charged more for tickets to SJU-Cuse- because thats all this is, a list of ticket pricing structure- but chose not to in order to insult SJU?

I hate Cuse as much as the next person, but come on man.

Please tell me which of these non descript Southeast ACC schools will draw more or capture the attention of a Cuse fan more than the storied Cuse/SJU rivalry:

Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Wake Forest

My logic would be that they are conference games, which are automatically more important then a game against a team who went 8-20 or whatever it was last year.

I think it may be a little more storied to us than it is to them.

I despise Ex-cuse more than even Ucon.  They don't acknowledge 2 consecutive defeats (one of which should have not in the ncaa's last year,  How did BC do against them?  This will hopefully light the fire under our lads to put on a good thrashing.  Also should be no students at game as this will be during Christmas break.  wonderful timing a Wed night 4 days before Christmas.

lol   If the kids feel disrespected about this.
Then they need to go there and smack 'em up in front of their fans, like Green and co. did 2 years ago.

Syracuse doesn't give a shit about Saint John's and why should they. We beat them in November and pretend we won the super bow and they go out and compete for a national championship in April. All this is is a measure of how much we suck and for how long we have.

Isn't the reason that is listed as a tier IV game because this game is after the semester ends and nobody will be on campus up there?

I long for the day, hopefully soon, when instead of griping about the lack of perceived respect for going 8-20, we can gripe about the bandwagon fans sprouting everywhere because we have a winning and successful program.

To all of you who think this isn't noteworthy here's a twitter exchange from Matt's q&a this morning:

@mabde33 will you take this chance to guarantee a win over Syracuse?  Do it for the fans!  #WeAre

Certainly have it marked down since we aren't worthy of a tier 1 ticket price 😀Matt Abdelmassih added,

I have been to  probably 25 or so games at Manley field house and later, the Dome against  St.John's dating back to 1959-60. We don't travel well to snow country.
Even considering  all the freebies behind the bench, we rarely had more than 20 fans at any game even in the mid 80's.  In fact, I had a standing offer to our AD for two of my seats in the front row, center court, of the loge level and only twice did I get taken up on the offer.
On the other hand, we always averaged about 26,000 at our games and rose to 32- 34,000 during the 80's and some of the 90's. We still draw 18,000 even on a bad day.
I don't think the seeding was an insult at all. we are not a league game; we are not playing up to par the last decade, and it is vacation time for students. Like everyone else, they have to sell their packages and it is a super inducement for their ticket buyers to have a big name mixed in with their "traditional" rivals  from the neighborhood. It would be like us having a St. Joe's of Philly in to spice up our non league ticket package sales.
Georgetown will always get A+ ratings because of two events and comments....."Manley Field house is Officially Closed" ( J. Thompson Sr. ) in the last game at Manley; and.  J. Thompson Jr.'s walk off home run in the last BE game ever at the Dome when the Hoyas slapped them hard.
Don't be so sensitive!

I'd rather stay under the radar and beat them a third year in a row.  If we keep doing that, sooner or later they'll get it.

Or they'll replace us with SUNY Binghamton.
