Contend for another NC probably. And then Jim B will retire to the islands and make tire commercials and bang 16 year old fresh off the boat from Cozumel until he dies and you'll still be here trolling Baldi because you have such a full life

Your  love affair with the Cuse is laughable.

I don't care if the made it to the championship game last year.

They should not have been rewarded for coach Jim suspension.

If it was another team they wouldn't even be in the tournament but because they have so much power with the media they got in.

I'd rather stay under the radar and beat them a third year in a row.  If we keep doing that, sooner or later they'll get it.

What is there to get? Why do people on this board think this is a slight? SU would probably like to charge a premium for a St.John's ticket, and if there was enough interest in the game, they would. We complain about their fans taking over our Garden, but it would never occur to a St.John's student to get up to Syracuse for the game. If St.John's had students and an alumni base with character, this would be a harder ticket to get. But they simply don't.

You are confused. Go back and read my post again. Read it a few times if you need to. And you need to. I explained it all very clearly.

I am sorry I was not writing about your post but foad post.
He has a love affair with the Cuse.
Anybody knows that the NCAA would never give a Catholic University a break like they did with the Cuse.
There was no way they should have been in the tournament but you don't think that the Cuse don't have a lot of power in high places you are kidding your self.
SJU did half  the things that the Cuse did they would be on probation for years but the NCAA let the Cuse  get away with things other universities can not do.

Poison, the problem w part of your argument is the Syracuse students aren't driving from Syracuse to MSG. SU has so many alumni living and working in the the NYC area it affords them an easy opportunity to watch them play. But , like others have already said , If SJU starts winning attendance will pick up. The SJU Georgetown game at MSG in 85 was the hottest ticket in town.

The media dragged SU through the mud, and rightfully so. If you think that they have some kind of power over the media that is because you are confused.

St.John's students don't travel to Syracuse, or anywhere, except down to the street to Dunkin Donuts.

Or they'll replace us with SUNY Binghamton.
Yea this is more likely lol.
Syracuse doesn't HAVE to play us. They do it because its beneficial to them in several ways. They get to play at the Garden in a "Road Game" where they traditionally get a ton of fans to go so the "Home and Home" really goes out the window when we have to travel to the Carrier dome every other year. They don't get that benefit with any other team in Division 1.

I also take that Jim Beoheim's affirmation for "The old big east" is the reason he signs off on playing Georgetown and St Johns.

[/quote. That's the part I agree w. Let's get the students to go to Carneseca arena first.

Getting like a root canal? Been there for a long time.   Is there an ignore poster function on the site? I would pay a fee to add one.

Listen why would we travel all the way to Canada for a game? Just watch it on TV or at a bar

Was up at the Carrier Dome today for USF (my new favorite college football team) and Syracuse. They drew about 25,000 according to one employee, I thought more like 30,000, a good college basketball crowd at the Dome
Bear in mind this was Homecoming Day, a big draw at most colleges. Only about 50 members of the class of '66 showed up and there were only 100 USF Bulls fans in the visitors section. Syracuse isn't an easy location to get to.
They get between $35 and $80 for a ticket and the really good seats are all taken by people who pay a "seating Plan" price in the high 3 figures or low 4 figures to secure the right to buy them every year. Yet, on a warm or a sunny day ( there are only 90 days per year like that in Syracuse each year) even the season ticket holders will not show up.  Basketball has huge crowds because it's in the winter and it's always snowing and cold outside; besides they are a pretty good team and there isn't much of anything to do outside.
I asked several fans about their feelings about St. John's being in the early season schedule and they thought it was great. They love playing us  and they still have a big emotional tie to the BE. They do not want the relationship to end. They see us and Georgetown as a bonus in an always very weak early season schedule.  The would also like to get Villanova on the schedule as they miss them as well.
Let's come up big against them again this year and we can forget the alleged "slight".
