The Staten Island Campus was opened after the Brooklyn Center closed in the early 70's. As a proud graduate of the Brooklyn Center you should be aware that there was wide spread support  of the team (just could hope that the Jamaica Campus can match that support today) and although we had about 1,000-1,500 under graduates we sold close to 2,000 tickets per game there. If you consider going to S.I. slumming don't go. Just wanted to make the members of the site aware of the scrimmage. As always looking forward to the season.

Only 15 years late--stopped in March 2001 and then Fresh Kills reopened as a forensic center after 9/11.  Don't make rash statements about "The Rock" or one of its residents might visit you and take you to see the land fill late at night.

Marketing event? How is this a marketing event? I think you are confused. This is an open practice on Staten Island. 2 years ago they held an open practice at MSG. THAT was an event. Staten Island is a f'n disgrace. An event should be eventful. This is charity.

Sounds like you think anyone who attends the campus on The Rock does not belong to SJU.  Complain as you do about how difficult it is to get to that campus; think instead as to how difficult it is to get to CA from there.  PS--they are also doing in similar event on Battery Park City courts for the Manhattan campus. .
