Rick Cole has stayed local, working at St. John’s as Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, and then at Dowling College as Athletic Director from 2005-2013; he’s been at Iona in New Rochelle since 2013. That’s 11 years of AD experience on lower levels, and some St. John’s experience.

John D`Argenio has been Athletic Director since 1992, as Acting Director his first year and official AD from 1993 on. In that 23 years, the Saints have maintained a level of excellence within their conference and have fielded a strong and well-attended men’s basketball team in Albany.

Mike Broeker is the Deputy Athletic Director for Big East conference member Marquette. He currently oversees marketing and licensing and oversees the Athletics program (and explained Marquette’s hoops schedule to our friends at Paint Touches). He is also a graduate of Siena college and has worked for the Women’s Tennis Association and the NBA in communications.

Terry Gawlik has been Senior Associate Athletic Director at Wisconsin since 2005, with oversight over softball, volleyball, women’s basketball and rowing. She is also the chair of the NCAA’s D-1 Women’s basketball Championship Sport Committee as of September 1st. She is originally from Texas and graduated from Southwestern University and Texas State.

I'd take Marquette guy #1 and the Wisconsin chick #2. Need someone who wants to make this a big-time program.

Really like the background of the guy at Marquette.  This school desperately needs a marketing and merchandising overhaul. I also really likes that he has experience at a private school having to market against a state school (Wisconsin) just like we do with Syracuse. They also have an NBA arena partnership at Marquette.  He just seems like a strong fit on paper.

Not really knowing any of these people in depth at surface level the Marquette dude would be my pick. I've always liked the stuff Marquette has put out.

Seems like some good choices here, but what's the hurry St.John's?

That's just the final four list. Next year they will announce the 2 semi-finalists and in 2018 they will announce the hire and that he or she will start in the 2020 fiscal year.

I vote Rick Cole as Marco has swayed me to liking everything Iona.

However, bear in mind that I also wanted Paul Hewitt.
