Thats a tough loss. Its hard for me to imagine going through something like that.  It puts life in perspective.

I used to be skinny like that, and the only way I gained weight was by lifting.  Hopefully he can develop some guard skills and play 3 to 5.

Cant wait.  Even without next years guys, this is the deepest we ve been in a while.

He will be the surprise player on the team this year.  Nice to see a kid who has been dealt a tough game power through and make something of himself.

Additionally, he hasn't played a minute of basketball yet but he's already shown us a skill we have had since DJ Kennedy. Upon command, 6'8 Tariq Owens can grow 3 inches to 6'11 with a 7'4 wingspan.

People that struggle to Gain weight are a mystery to me.  Seems downright antithetical to the natural order of things.

If I ever see him play a minute at the three, I might break the tv.

That's where Derian Williams plays. It's taken.

He's like a lottery ticket at this point. And when do we win the lottery? Our luck has to change eventually.

Let's hope so.

I'm starting to think Owens is our starting center

I think people are too high on him. He'll need at least another year...probably two before he can a quality Big East starter.

Depends on what you consider Yakwe. I seem to remember him getting a lot of 5 minutes last year, though that was after Simas injury.

I like Bash at the four with Yakwe at the five.

I like the small, quick athletic lineup myself. Put the best 5 players on the floor, regardless of positiion

It's all about free-throws with Sima and Yakwe.   We know we we got defensively with them. The team with have a very hard time taking the next step if two of their main front court players can't hit free-throws above 60%.   It's a huge liability if they can't do that.

Especially with Yakwe. He beat his man almost
at will from the elbow but it was nullified by fouls and his inability to  hit the feeebies. Sima will be fine. Good form.
