I think the staff should ease Ponds in. First guard off the bench

I agree. I don't think it's a good sign for the season if Ellison isn't the 2 guard on Friday.

Can't count on Ellison. I go with Ponds, Mussini, Ahmed, Yakwe, Sima

How do we know at this point who we can count on? None of us have seen Ellison yet. I liked the way Mussini played on Halloween, but that's Baruch. With a young team I don't think we can afford to start such a liability on defense. It will be interesting to see who has improved more. Minnesota, I believe is our first respectable test. Sorta.

That's exactly what I mean, Ellison hasn't played

I hear ya. Let's see where he is on Friday, and how ready he is to play.

It would've been surprising to hear URI wasn't up big at some point.  They're a good veteran team.
We are not, yet.

Let's not act like we're ready to knock off top 25 teams.  In my opinion we're not.  Maybe January will be a different story though.

I agree here.  In addition, I like to see us get our asses beat early in "secret" scrimmages.  URI is an excellent squad to do that against.  It will also bring the best out of us.  We also don't know what staff was trying to drill here.  These types of scrimmages are for testing out lineups, offensive and defensive sets and the like.  I'm sure URI won.  I hope we get sharper because first real game next week.  This is the one to get waxed and learn.  Not later..

Talk about getting waxed.  I can't envision us being ready for the Spartans on a less than neutral court this early in the season.  Could be ugly.

but I like our chance more after a nice wake up call

Since this year is really all about the future, Ponds should start and play a lot. This way you know what you have for next year and gives him some good experience.

Rhode Island won first half by 14, #sjubb won second half by 1

Is this a new way to say we lost by 13? Like Core Math? I hate core Math!

We have to see how ready Ellison is. He's the sophomore. I think it's a bad sign for him if he's coming off the bench.

Realistically Mussini and Ellison are battling for one spot for the future

Ellison seems to be too injury prone. Gotta stay upright

They wipe scores clean in these type of scrimmages. It's like 2 games.
