Any word on the impact of the snow storm sweeping across the area?

Yes, the snow is all white and the anti-Trump protesters are calling the storm racist. Game should be a good test for our guys and will be interesting to see how our front court responds to first real rest of the season as things will only get tougher in our next game vs Mich St. and their freshman phenom Bridges.

This was a really bad Minnesota team last year. They add Amir Coffey a top 50 recruit. They probably had/have less depth than St. John's. They lost their first tougher test last year (game 3 vs Temple) too.

We got a shot here.

The big key will be defense and rebounding. They aren't a good shooting team and misses = can't press.

Defense I agree.  We have better guards and shooting regardless of age.  We also have plenty of height athleticism and depth.  I wish Ahmed was at Sir Dom's level of swag entering this game and it would make me feel better.  Frontcourt needs to find themselves yet,n but we have talent there.

Will definitely be tough for our guys to get a win in what will be the first road game for alot of our top guys. However it is pretty fortunate that the first road game is a winnable one even though we will be solid underdogs. A good start is imperative in this one

I can see Minnesota coming out swinging. Pitino wanted St. John's job and can see him trying to make this one personal.

I think teams will learn quickly that you can't press this team.

Sure you can. While we have very capable ball handlers on the team doesn't mean they are infallible to pressure/traps. It doesn't help our starting backcourt is 6'1 and 6'0.

It's imperative that we rebound well and prevent 2nd shots. They aren't a good shooting team and will look to score off turnovers.

I'm hoping short rotations for the bigs to keep them fresh and explosive.

Sima (4 min), Owens (4 min), Amar (2 min), Sima (4 min), Owens (4 min)

While not an exact time rotation but you get the idea of playing these guys in short sprints so they give everything they got when they're in there. As soon as they show first signs of tiring, yank and get fresh body in.

So we can't be pressed and we can't be zoned. Damn we're going to be a 5 seed this year

I personally think we can be pressed right now because we aren't quite used to it.  Give it a few games and it will be near impossible.  Our bigs and forwards are also fast and relatively savy with that stuff.  We aren't a team that most will want to press after a few games under our belt,  with 4 good guards, and several forwards that are gazelles and can kiss the rim.

Our guards only played limited competition, but they also haven't broken much of a sweat.  Don't know what we will be able to do tomorrow because it's out first big game, but our guards by mid-season will be a scourge for other teams.

Minny will be invariably difficult for us because while we have talent and much else, we are facing our first team on the road that has athletes almost like we do.  These types of games we have to differentiate.  Guys like Ahmed need to play D1, not JUCO tomorrow.

If those were the only two aspects of the game, maybe. This team isn't stopping anyone on the other end.
