Have our guys ever heard of a head fake down low? Jesus.
Mussini and Ponds will take over now.

Talk about momentum swing. Two different halves within 20 minutes.

LoVett is playing wild basketball now.   This isn't Binghamton or Bethune-Cookman.

I saw this style of ball a season ago without any talent.  We now have talent, and it's the same type of ball.

IMO, we play too much man defense.  We don't even play it well, so why not occasionally switch it up?  It's rhetorical.

Huge breakdowns in defense.  And we fell in love with the 3.

Some semblance of a game plan would be nice.

I've never seen such poor transition defense in the last 10 minutes of that half

Not second guessing. Have been saying this for  months. We should have hired and experienced coach to be the top assistant. This game is about to get ugly

Keep things in perspective.  This is a young team.  The entire rotation is freshmen and sophs.

They'll get better.  We have much more skill than we did a year ago.

Tired of hearing that. Minnesota sucks also.

Big offensive drought followed by sloppy D.  Can't think threes alone will win it.  We are a better offensive team than this.  This ten point hole is all our doing, which oddly is a good sign.  We are still in this.  We fell apart a bit.  Time to start putting it together..  We are going to be a good team this season, but need to defend better and take good shots.  We are also turning it over more than we have.

Hopefully, our backcourt takes over in the second half, but I also wanted an experienced top assistant on the staff.  I'm not fond of this NBA-style of play, minus the NBA-talent, nor am I fond of this constant man-to-man defense.

We're not losing this game, based on personnel, IMO.

Yes but we don't run any offensive sets. It's all one on one nonsense. We'll never consistently score that way. We had a 7 minute stretch where we made a bunch of shots that we shouldn't have made. If we only make half of those shots we'd be down 20 instead of 10.

The good news is Minny is in love with the three, easy to stop the transition offense, and Minny is timing all blocks off no fakes. Easy adjustments.

More Ponds and Mussini and less of everyone else. Ponds is getting into the lane at will. Send Ellison to the showers until he wants to play a screen like a goddamn man.

Bigs have bad habits. Entire team doesn't get back on defense. Ponds needs to be involved in every play. Ahmed is freelancing. He is shooting way too much and screwing around dribble to get to the basket. That crap doesn't work at this level. Everyone knows where he's going. Sima has to go up strong. He's playing dainty. Yakwe brings the ball down too low. Bad habit. Owens has to finish better. His defense is good. Need him out there more. Ellison looks like he did last January. Snap out of it!  Mullin needs to wake them up in the second half. Why aren't we pressing them?

Exactly!  Minnesota is about as young, as the Johnnies, and they were picked to finish at the bottom of the Big 10 like we were the Big East.  We still have an entire half to go, and could find our way back in this thing.  But, I still see some flaws that showed up last season.  I'll leave it at that for now.

Lack of focus.
