On Freudenberg, people need to remember this wasn't an Ali B situation where Lavin was landing a player that "projected" to have some skills and be a solid player. Freud was considered by virtually every outlet to be a very good prospect and someone who would have been a top 50 recruit. People forget how long it takes certain kids to develop into players. Pointer, as mentioned, was a mess as a junior and had one of the better senior seasons in recent memory for a Johnny. Hardy and Brownlee were role players as juniors - maybe they were misused, but they were clearly better players as seniors. As Foad, Paultz and others often point out, sometimes it takes kids time to adjust, and I think that applies even more so to foreign players.
