If RF is going to have a future here, he's gotta hit open 3s.
He's not here for his athleticism or ball handling.
He is terrible.

you really never cease to amaze me. Think before you hit the enter button. Hes a teenager,in a new country. Cant even wait 10 games till you sink this kid. With this kind of logic Phil  and Dom would have been told to beat it after year 1.

On the bright side for Freud was second in rebounds w/ 6 in 13 min of play

on the ugly side, Sima and Yakwe had only 5 rebounds in combined 30 minutes....

Ball bounced his way, none of the rebs were contested. Still getting his feet wet. Maybe his shoot will start falling as he has rep of being able to shoot. Ali on the other hand not so much yet he keeps hoisting them up. Guess everybody has green light to shoot when open. Of course there is a theory as to why he is open.

Tonight should get everyone off the ledge a bit.  Shot the lights out, balanced scoring and loved the ball movement.  22 assists to 13 turnovers and some of the latter were during garbage time.  Plus 10 on the glass.  13-15 from the line. Need to continue to improve on getting points at the rim or in the paint.  There will be nights, like Delaware St, where the three-ball isn't falling and this team needs to find ways to adjust and win those games.

Nice bounce back game tonight. I predicted the Johnnies would score in the 80's but they even outdid that. I only saw up until 2 min left in the first half. They were definitely on from deep. I'd still like to see them get to the hoop more as the better teams are going to clog the box and make them beat them from deep, nonetheless a good showing tonight.

On Freudenberg, people need to remember this wasn't an Ali B situation where Lavin was landing a player that "projected" to have some skills and be a solid player.  Freud was considered by virtually every outlet to be a very good prospect and someone who would have been a top 50 recruit.  People forget how long it takes certain kids to develop into players.  Pointer, as mentioned, was a mess as a junior and had one of the better senior seasons in recent memory for a Johnny.  Hardy and Brownlee were role players as juniors - maybe they were misused, but they were clearly better players as seniors.  As Foad, Paultz and others often point out, sometimes it takes kids time to adjust, and I think that applies even more so to foreign players.

The Lovett and Ponds show
The Lovett and Ponds show

Its going to have to be all year since Sima and Yakwe are useless on the offensive end

Now I'd like to see them take it to the hoop

Yea, should've taken less threes and lost

Ok so let's live and die with the 3, I'm fine with that. Put the best 5 players on the court  and let it fly

Maybe wearing #20 is too much pressure.  his mechanics look horrid.  he needs minutes to find his stroke; hopefully we can build some cushions in the next few games.

LOL Baldi.  I don't love that approach and to be honest how they played tonight reminded me of watching the Cluess Gaels.  Problem is you need to have superior talent to play that way and be successful; it works for Iona because they recruit better talent than the conference.  Hard to do that succesfully in the Big East.

But there is no question that our guards/Ahmed are the strength of this team right now and those guys should be given the green light to take open 3's, as many were tonight, because they can make them.

As I said earlier, would love to see Yawke or Sima develop into some type of option in the paint or Lovett/Ponds penetrate more when the 3's aren't falling.  Because we will have games where the 3 ball isn't there.

I unfortunately didn't get to watch the game. I checked the stats and noticed that Lovett, Ponds and Ahmed all didn't start. I wanted to know if this is a typo or not. If not, I'm assuming they didn't start because of some point Mullin is trying to make. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Great ball movement and team BB. Inside game troubling . Would like to see Bash at the 4 w a 3 guard lineup. Can't count on our bigs. Enjoyable game.

Agree on Bash at the 4. No way we can have two of Yakwe, Sima and Owens on the floor at the same time. We are at too much of a disadvantage on offense with that lineup. Would like to see the floor spread more and more of Lovett/Ponds drive and kick or drive and score because we sure won't shoot 64% from 3 again

It's obvious that a lot of our woes this season attributable to our weakness at the 3-5 spots in general with the exception of Ahmed.   I do like the way Owens has played though.  We are young and will have rough spots without interior scoring, but finally have a very dynamic backcourt and solid future.  Nice to see a big win.
