Ahmed and Dom totally different players though. Pointers athleticism and defensive skill allowed him to play well against much bigger opponents. And Bash is much more advanced in the perimeter than Dom ever was offensively.

Mussini can hit the open shot . He must be guarded and that will take pressure off Ponds and Lovett. Don't want Lovett double teamed. Re, Bash he is bigger than Dom and we all saw how Dom was playing the 4. Our bigs look so lost offensively need Bash at the 4 .IMO and I don't think that  is a band aid.
If the choice is play Bash at the 4 or Sima and Yakwe at the same time, I'll take Bash at the 4.

Agree.

The core four stay together, the bigs improve, and one of Clark/Simon plays like a big east starter and we will be a tourny team next year. So much talent, people need to relax.

I agree Mase, with one caveat: Zach brown is here and can contribute as a frosh.

Zach Brown is very different than anyone we have on this team.  He might be a little raw, but he's got huge hands, and can get the ball down low where our other guys can't.   He won't be a 40 minute player but he will change gameplans for teams eventually.

I also think both Clark and Simon will be significant contributors.

Hear Brown is a big "if" qualifying.

He should have just stopped playing basketball and take 16 hour of classes a day

Moses Brown won't be available 'til 2018.  Zach Brown should be eligible that particular season.  I still believe the staff will persistantly pursue Moses Brown, regardless.  I've been saying all along it'll be tough for Zach Brown to be eligible next season.  If he somehow ends up eligible....  Good!  But, I'm already expecting him to be in civilian attire on gamedays a season from now.

The blue bloods are sniffing around when it comes to Moses Brown, so I'm not confident in landing him.

What is Zacks impediment for qualifying. Academics or legal issues?

I believe it could be the combination of both.

You gotta win to get the players. A winning season or close to it will go a long way with some of these top prospects.

Academics, multiple schools issue. We'll see.

Obviously Id rather see him play next year. But I wouldn't be disappointed w a Lovett situation as a partial qualifier.

I don't think we know one way or another about whether he will be likely to qualify.  It will certainly be tentative with all the schools he's been to.  Another point to take into account is how the NCAA has handled these cases wrt St. John's.  We don't seem to get much favorabale treatment  ala Tar Heel sauce.   I'd still like to get this kid into the program, even if he's sitting a year.

Is mussini part of that core 4? I tend to think the play of Ellison will be more important to the team than Mussini, as far as making that tournament jump.

Yes, Mussini in. Undoubtedly the better player IMO.

Welcome aboard.
If Mussini can't get 4-5 open looks a game, that is on the stafff. He and Simon will complement each other perfectly next year.

Bash can play the 4, but then Ellison has to play the 3, and he's played pretty badly. Freudenberg probably couldn't develop any slower, but should something click for him at some point later this season, maybe he could play the 3. We're probably pretty far away from seeing that.

Bash never plays with his back to the basket and does all his damage facing forward.  Seems like an odd choice to play the 4 indeed.
