From what I heard I think he likely ends up at SJU,

I would hope so. Hopefully we can beat out Akron, Georgia and Oral Roberts for his services

At least these are lightweights, though I'm sure Georgia's campus is great

Tennessee too.  He plays for the same AAU team that Marvin Clark did, so yes I think it is safe to assume that we are the front runner here.

Definitely a little concerning that locals like Wichita St and Kansas St aren't pursuing this kid but definitely a good piece to have if he comes. This is the type of depth kid we need to make sure we aren't running only 6 deep like we did in 14-15

I don't know how good he is, but we desperately need a pf/c or two who can get the ball down low, as well as body guys on defense in the post.  We have a talented roster coming back.  Need to fill some holes.

So what do we know size wise. Are we talking a LEGIT 6'7, 225 ?

Most are saying about 6'7"-6'9" and about  240.  I believe the 240.  His frame is big and he could add a ton of muscle as well.

From these clips which are nice quality, looks like a strong kid and doesn't pretend to be anything but a post-guy.  I'll take that even if he needs grooming.

I'll buy that. Certainly looks like he's got some beef on him. Any thoughts on Akron, but no K State ?

He is a late riser by all accounts so very possible those schools either filled their scholarships or are not in need of his skill set. We have talent on the roster but we are in need a big who can bang and grab boards. If he does that I don't much care who else recruited him.

Wichita State already has 2 commits for their open scholarships.  A pg and a 6'11 center.  Kansas state already has 2 PF's signed and also filled all their scholarships.  In addition, sunrise Christian is a local academy but Derrick Walker is from Missouri, and isn't local to Wichita.  Only recently been playing there I believe.  I don't know how he compares to Kansas State's PF's but they were also unranked.  He has offers from Georgia and Tennessee, two upper tier schools so they seem to see something as well.  Seems he's a late bloomer.

We've needed a lunch pail post player with a nose for rebounds for years. Unfortunately, we chose Brown over Hasahn French, who seems like the better-regarded version of Walker. I'd be cool with Walker but would like to keep transfer options open, too.

Patton had only had one college offer.

He conmitted early. He was a consensus top 50 recruit

Give it up. Hes turning 21 in march. A 20 year old soph, that's almost young for college players these days  ;D

Has Trump lowered the social security age? LoVett is 20, and will be until March 4th.  A bit old for a freshman, granted,  but not his fault he was forced to redshirt last year by the NCAA.

Creigfhton has, what, 6 or 7 guys older than that, including 5th year seniors and 4th year juniors?  LoVett's got 17 games of college ball played.  The point wasn't just chronological age -- and Freudenberg, Yakwe, Elllison and lots of our guys are very young -- but experience playing D1 college ball.
