92 to penn st at home

And someone on here favors us against the Cuse, go figure  ::)

Cuse is going to crush us by 40

Agreed, it should be decisive.

The same could have been said last year.  We were worse a year ago, and Cuse was a final four team.  They are not nearly that good this year.

Have you seen us play? At this point, it really doesn't matter who the opponent is. We're not even average.

Time to voice your opinion to the new A D
Grow up.
Seriously what do you see that gives you hope?

Our two best players are freshmen. Our top ten players are all first or second year players. We have a top 35 recruit and another physical forward (from top ten programs) redshirting and we have an inexperienced staff.

I don't enjoy agreeing with Marillac but he is correct on all accounts.

The most disturbing sign today was the poor play of our 3 best players: Ponds Lovett and Ahmed all played out of control and forced things.  Not a good sign.
But as has been mentioned, their careers are just beginning.

I do think it's nearly inexcusable that Mullin didn't take a timeout when we went down 9 after being up 6 in the first half.  By the time he called timeout we were down like 17.

Mullin is lost. Trusting him with this position was a terrible idea.

Most of you especially you in particular have no credibility when it comes to SJU.  You wanted Roberts gone and he is gone, you wanted Lavin gone and he is gone.  You touted the Mullin hire and and took shots at Lavin and others as he left.

Now you want Mullin gone.  Mind you this is no defense of these recent games, it has been disastrous.   But most of you can't be taken seriously because you are great at spending other people's money.

Never said I want Mullin gone. Plenty of others jumped on that. I said recruit smarter and better players from good programs. That and hire someone who knows what they are doing on the bench to sit next to you

If Pecora or Slice were sitting next to Mullin we still lose this game by 20.

That said, I agree in principle that a new head coach should not have assistants all new to coaching too.  That isn't a recipe for success.  But, this team needs more than an experienced assistant.

This would stop if we actually hired a competent coach just one time.

Why is it that the last 3 coaches we've had ended their coaching careers at St. John's with lower value than they had coming in? Jarvis went to Florida Atlantic after SJU and petered out there and is now off the coaching map completely. Norm went back to being an Assistant and is not really a head coaching candidate anywhere. Lavin is back in the studio and probably won't have a head coaching job ever again.

Contrast that with the good programs in the Big East. Butler's last head coach is now coaching the Boston Celtics. Xavier's last head coach took a step up to Arizona. Villanova's current coach could probably get any NBA job if he wants it.

Hell, even our women's team had a coach take a step up at the end of her run here, which is something the men's program has never experienced in my lifetime. I understand where we stand in the college landscape. If we had a coach leave us after 5 years to go somewhere bigger and better, that would be the best thing to happen to this program in 20 years. But since we can't hire one competent coach ever we never will experience that

Neither Pecora or Slice are X's and O's guys. We need an X's and O's guy, like we had with Dunlap

When a team plays poorly, U don't blame the assistants! We don't need Mike Dunlap . We need a head basketball coach!

No you just come on here everytime they lose and take shot after shot at the program and then use term "we."

But your not advocating anything?  Then try to find something better to do with your time.

Yep. Those coaches are out there but we never want to target any for some reason. I'm still giving Mullin a chance to turn this thing around but the X's and O's expertise may not just happen with more time on the bench. You need a guy who's got documented experience and success in that dept.

Exactly. I'm sick of this shit where we blame Mitch Richmond. Mullin wanted this job. He's being paid millions. This is on him now. I'd be fine with firing him tonight.

Agree. But the best thing Lavin did here was realize he needed a guy like Dunlap to help him in year 1 and the coaching took a significant dip when Dunlap left for greener pastures

Jarvis almost went to the NBA, that would have helped his career and SJU tremendously. Jarvis undoing is his fault. The same goes to Lavin. If he had recruited properly, and didn't have player issues he would proberly would have been extended. A new SJU regime came in and figured out that if the program would have to rebuild, he might as well pick the coach to rebuild the program.

The Current President and AD have come here to force change on this university, of this is a disastrous season, I believe change will happen.

The last coaching problems are a result of an administration not being proactive or even worse not caring.

Agree. When Lavin tried to coach we got killed. I believe he started listening to white sail and the team played well.
