I know this is my first post in a while, and I probably shouldn't. But we fired a coach that brought us three 20 win seasons in 5 years, for this. I'm still going to give Mullin another year, but I still stand by my stance that Lavin was the best coach we've had here in a long time. I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
Why limit ourselves to coaches with a connection to St. John's? There is a whole big wide world out there you know, and it's full of other coaches.
It would have to actually get worse for them to fire Chris Mullin. Unfortunately, it can get worse. Firing him would force us to start over, and it would probably push LoVett and Ponds out the door. As bad of a job as he's done, we have to sit here and hope he learns how to coach.
When they hired him they knew full well that this would either make them look like geniuses or complete idiots.
