Ponds is a more athletic and talented version of Sherman Douglas.  If he plays some D he will be drafted low first or second round but he will have to play 4 years.  Leaving early would be disasterous

I'm not gonna say, he'll have to play four years if he does the thing you said he has to do.  I'd love for him to be a four year player, but he could conceivably leave after next year, if someone tells him he's a late-first rounder (which, I think he could be in another season).

Playing 4 years will allow his body to mature.  With weight room work he should be able to get to 190 and retain the quickness he needs to be successful.

So finally got a kid from Louisiana. Building the relationship with coach/program down there pays off and I really like Williams. He's a guy who always came up big in big moments during 2 spring/summers I watched him. Similar body build to Paris Horne.

Think he comes in and contributes then makes impact as upper class man.

Kid is really flying under the radar, from everything I read about him on and off the court I'm already a fan of his. Can't wait to get him in the program.

Clearly Williams & Josh Roberts are on board. Hopefully Brooks signs in April.

Williams recently assured staff he is fully committed. Same goes for Roberts. Winning a few more games can only help in getting signed LOI from Brooks. Yesterday helped immensely in my opinion.

Also Owens and his pops seem to love SJU for those worried about grad transfer on him.

Let's hope so. As for Brooks, I'll believe he is a Johnny when I see him on the layup line game 1. But that goes for all recruits, at any school

No specific knowledge on Owens but one of my buddies showed me his Dad's twitter feed and it is as pro-SJU as you can imagine

You see his tweets on the #sjubb Twitter time line and he responds to other fans of the program Twitter messages.  He's been very, pro-SJU.

I noticed his posts was showing some discontent during the past week or two.  It was much different than usual.  Maybe, yesterday's win alleviated some of his frustration.

I believe talk of his transferring is much ado about nothing for the following
1--he has improved each year under the coaches and he has their confidence in his abilities; i.e., increased 3pt. attempts
2--working with Simon and Ponds on give and goes, if he transfers he would be dependent on "new" guards getting him the ball
3--next year with Keita eligible, he will be able to play some time at the forward position which is where he has to play at the next level
4--staying with us will assure him of a team leadership role (captain) which he will not have on another team as a "new come"
5--lastly-would a new coach let him demonstrate his dancing skills as he loosens up before game which I love to watch as he gets ready. :).
