We have a small incredibly thin front line. A frontline that also includes Amar Aliwhatever.
We have midget guards. Two of which are not dedicated defenders and another that would need a weapon to stop someone. Another Ellison doesn't hustle.
Play zone but there is not a zone around that would hide those problems.
Would rather play against a lazy zone D then a lazy man every day.
This team playing zone might give up a buck twenty five a game.
Trapping and pressing is out of the question.

Why does the defense have to be lazy? This roster has limitations. Doesn't mean we should be this bad. No reason to quit.
The offense sucks also. We are to skinny to set screens ? What do we do to get Ahmed open? We play mussin, what do we do to get him open? We play Amar, has he set a screen off the ball all season?

Our D is lazy. Ponds, Lovett and Ellison in particular. Not a good recipe for a zone. Zone is not a cure all

You guys make it seem like it is absurd to compete with the 7/8 team in the conference. Your love affair with 1985 is so strong that you accept so little. Losing to the last 3 games were expected. Losing them like that shouldn't be accepted. Another embrassing beat down coming tomorrow. Lavin's fault.

Lavin had 2 acceptable years and 3 shitty years.

And left the worst roster in D-I basketball behind.  I'm not sold on the staff by any stretch, but you can't overlook the disaster they took over because our prior coach decided to stop recruiting effectively his last few years, ignored roster balance, and put his future in two problem-children of the highest ilk.

No one's accepting anything. The GT game was horrible, they gave up, everyone acknowledges that. It's only the mental cases like you who think there's a game plan or a halftime adjustment or some magic triangle and two bullet that's going to offset the deficiencies this roster labors under.

This is Mullin's year one, last year was a throwaway. Let's stipulate that a girl's seventh grade CYO coach genius such as yourself would have this team competing for a national championship.  But Mullin Doesn't have your expertise, so he needs a year or to to recruit players good enough to accomplish what you would with a roster of Missinis and Alibagoshits.

The only BE caliber players we have are .Lovett,Ponds,Bash, Owens,  and you can debate whether   Yakwe and Ellison belong in there. Assuming you count the last 2. That's 6 BE caliber players. 2 fr, 3 so. And 1 Jr  In his first year of division one. We essentially have no bench. Our other players wouldn't sniff the floor on a good BE team, w the possible exception of Mussini getting a few minutes for offense. Also factor in Lovett and Ponds are small and we have a lot of skinny players. That formula equals bottom part of the conference. Now if we can retain our players, have them hit the weight room ,add  Simon and Clark and another strong big, we could be middle of the pack next year w an upward trend. On the other hand, I think the key to our success is if we can retain our players and build around them . Major defections will be  trouble.
