I agree with that...Just normally they make a higher percentage of these quick shots.

Yep.  Totally out of control when attempting to close out on shooters.

I thought our defensive effort has been better actually.
We've had lapses, and bringing a double team from a guard is having no effect. 
Plus the closing out thing.  That's gotta stop.

But the effort is better I think.  Ponds and Lovett are giving more effort on the d end.

I agree and I'm not even sure either team got the better end of it. I just hate this reciprocal reasoning referring. Offensive foul down there, oh now there must be an offensive foul down here, etc.

Ugly first half. Owens has to finish. Why should we ask Lovett to run the offense, when no one does their part?
