Wideman looks like Karl Malone against us.

Keep in mind hes avg 7 points and after going for 20 against us he never had more than 9 after that.

The German kid should play the next 17 minutes. Again why is Amar in?

This is why we can't go into next year with Owens Yakwe and Williams as our only 5s and expect to be a tournament team

Why on earth did this staff want Alibegovic back? He gets credit for playing hard. He's slow and he doesn't pay attention.

They're shooting lights out. We have Alibegovic on the roster for some reason. Just not our night.
Can't just keep saying it's not our night. You say that when games like this happen once in a while not all the time. We are playing and efforting like garbage.

We're playing in one of the toughest environments in college basketball against a top 25 team that is shooting the lights out from deep. Not our night.
So playing terrible defense and not even thinking of going for a rebound has nothing to do with it. BS

If you read above, I've been very critical of the rebounding effort. My point is, we're never going to beat a Butler team in Hinkle that is shooting the lights out like this, no matter how well we play.
Not asking to WIN the damn game but at least be a little bit competitive.

Who knows, maybe we'll go on a run and finish within 15.
And that satisfies you maybe but it is already to late to be competitive in this game. Cosmetic score means nothing.

If he comes back next year I'm considering boycotting the team.
Because thats the thing to do in America these days.

Mullin should #$%^ing outraged by how soft his team is. Instead he is always fighting with refs.

It's okay. Dave told us size doesn't matter anymore in college. Wideman could have not had a point or rebound and still dominated us. He takes up two bodies in the post and set screens for three straight made treys in the first half.

As an aside poor officiating rampant in college game. The amount of fouls called ruins rhythmn of the game & is too often unwatchable.

Agree.  I've even heard commentators get tired of the whistles during telecasts.  If a player drives to the basket, then you can expect a whistle for the most part.

It's okay. Dave told us soe doesn't matter anymore in college.

Clearly Wideman dominated & made game too physical for us from the tip. Good call.

He's top 3 big man in conference. He could have been contained if Yakwe wasn't looking for butterflies in the sky instead of locating ball.

Height/Weight isn't prohibitive rebounding. Need more emphasis on rebounding as a team. When there is a focus there you've seen positive results.

Meanwhile Shamorie gets mugged by 3 guys on the break and no call. Just awful.

Also I'll be the Ellison apologist tonight. He was awful. Looking for flop instead of making the play. Huge peeve of mine.

This was so frustrating, momentum was starting to swing our way and it was coming off of a great steal.

While a big part of the problem is that the bigs simply just don't box out, another problem is they get bullied and aren't strong enough to keep the opponents bigs from clearing out space and getting the better position.

We can not go into next season without adding a tough big man even if its just a 15 minute a game guy.

I guess all these top programs are wasting their time spending millions on weight rooms and world class strength and conditioning programs then.

I completely agree with you that we need better team rebounding, but our boys can't handle  men like that under the basket. We need a beast.
