Ellison haters can kindly stfu

Impressive that he made a bad shot, then fouled Creighton's best FT shooter in the bonus 6 feet inside half court, then let his man get a deflection over him and score an uncontested layup, to then run the ball recklessly to the rim and hand it
To Creighton for a fastbreak. He really showed us!

Yeah so now he can play hero ball on Saturday and return to form and then you can kindly stfu.

I actually root for our players.
So do I, just think most of criticism of ME has been legit but I do recognize it is not his fault he gets way to much PT for his level of play at this time.

Then you'd think you'd have positive things to say after he scores 8 straight impressive points which kept us in the game.
No one criticized him for that stretch it is his overall body of work and I only posted in response to your call for people to stfu even if it was done in a kindly manner.

Perhaps you should read this thread where he was the most critiqued player, calls for him to be benched, etc. A stfu was more than necessary.

But yeah, I'm sure you can't wait for his next poor performance so you can say I told you so. I just love seeing the most critiqued players play well and silence the haters.

Damn man it was a great 3 minutes of ball that was started from his positive energy getting 3 rebounds in 3 minutes prior. But Christ he was beyond bad for the entirety of the game prior and a prime reason we were down big to begin with.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

LOL this can't be a real response by a SJU fan about Ellison's 8 points keeping us in the game. Can it?

Also the game is clearly over. I don't fault him for trying to make something happen in the last 3 mins.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a role player put under this much scrutiny.

He missed shots in the first half, yeah. But I thought overall he played well today. Better than most of the team.

Can we leave Ellison in Omaha hoping he'll transfer to nearby Nebraska? Three horrible fouls in the bonus. This kid is just an idiot.

Really confused here.  Why are we calling our kids idiots now on an open message board? He's got a lot of weaknesses and makes mistakes, sure.  But we are calling our 19 year old players idiots now? Ok whatever...

What game did you watch? He is one of the most frustrating players to ever wear a St. John's
jersey. He is functionally brain dead on the court.

I'm glad you were impressed with his wide open three and then a made three on a poor choice that happened to go in. It doesn't make up for his nice personic fouls in the bonus and late turnovers.

I think that is a bit over the top to drive home a point.  He doesn't particularly play smart, but just leave it at his play.

And the team was -13. Big deal. +/- is a proven flawed statistic anyway. Anyone with eyes knows this game would've been over with early in the 2nd half without ellison.

the fact that ellison played okay for once and someone is rallying to his aid shows how incompetent he's been.  yes he managed to be less bad than usual, which is a pretty easy task.

I watched a game where the rout was about to be on and one of our players scored 8 straight points to keep us in the game. If you want to downplay that, sure. But i disagree with you.

and when we're down 12 with 3 mins left I don't mind the aggressiveness honestly. Shows he actually cares.

I think we'll win on Saturday to finish up at 8-10 in the conference.  I still think the team underachieved this season.  This should've been an NIT team at worse.

Before the season started, I felt this would be a 17-win team that would finish around 6th or 7th in the conference and receive an NIT bid.  There are some things to look forward to next season, but there are things that need to be cleaned up or we'll be having a similar discussion a year from now.

If you want it to be flawed you can. Or you can look at the fact the the team played AWFUL with him in during the first half and good with him out. 3  straight makes in the second half do nothing for me, honestly was more impressed with the 3 boards he had right in a row.

Do you think we underachieved in conference play? Would have liked to be more competitive against big boys especially on the road but I think we over performed overall in conference.
