They are division 2. Does it count for record? For at large selection?

Someone at the game tonight told me that it does count towards the record, but playing a division 2 opponent doesn't hurt your RPI, while playing a very bad division 1 team does. Not sure how true that is, but should be 4-0 headed to Orlando.

This is just a game to keep us warmed up til Oregon State...  not sure how it helps us but it is what it is.  Just stay healthy and come ready for Oregon State.

hope Yakwe gets decent minutes to help him try to turn it around ... with tourney coming with 3 games in 4 days, we'll need him to fill in minutes

I don’t think a win counts for NCAA towny consideration. Another opportunity to work on weaknesses and give Trimble some time on the court. I think Mullin will giveYakwe  some nice minutes. We need him to contribute.

We played Franklin Pierce in season Lavins final year and it counted towards the record. I believe the selection committee just doesn't take it as a serious win.

If things haven't changed over the years it counts on our overall record but the committee disregards it. In other words we can finish say 20-12 but the committee will consider us 19-12.

The total number of wins doesn't make a whole lot of difference on the resume anyway. Otherwise 20 win high majors wouldn't be the ones at larges over 25 win mid majors

It's an exhibition game.  Doesn't count.

Teams get to play a total of two combined exhibition or scrimmages. We already played an exhibition game and we scrimmaged Hofstra earlier so this is not an exhibition game. Nice try carmine perhaps you can come up with a nickname for this game that counts but doesn't count.

This game is senseless. Absolutely no reason play it at all. Are we playing them so that we can get ready for a season of D2 basketball?

Strange game but hopefully we can get a lot of burn for trimlble and Yakwe. There will be games where we will need those two to play well to win.

A favor?
Yeah we are doing them a favor by paying them to come to CA for a game that is not considered by the tournament selection committee.
