I'm sure you're just doing this to get a rise but Hornacek 2 best years were 20.1 and 19.1. Mullin averaged over 20 6 straight years with 5 of the 6 over 25
Yes, I am. I don’t even know what team Hornacek played for. People are crazy enough to defend Mullin the coach, despite an 0-10 record. A record which is clear as day. Seems just as reasonable to me to question what we all saw with our own eyes when he played.
Again, name one guy that posted Mullin is doing a good job. People are just giving reasons that it makes sense he be given another year. There was a bunch of reasons and yes the fact that he is Chris Mullin does warrant a little more leeway then we have given other non Mullin coaches.
People are giving reasons to bring him back, but that doesn't necessarily means it makes sense. It's just an opinion. Both sides are giving their opinion on the matter.
If he goes 0-fer or win one to two conference games in his third season; it makes more sense, logically thinking, to fire him than to bring him back.
" I hope Mullin quits" posted over and over is an opinion yes but logical thinking? I gave my reasons I think he should stay. Disagree if you want but at least state something. You know like recruiting will suffer if he stays. Or we might lose out on a quality replacement that you name. Or kids may defect because of unhappiness. At least you can have a debatable discussion on things like that. Stating Mullin stinks over and over, what is the point. As childish as Poison was in deciding to trash Mullin as player because he was pouting, well at least it was a different tact.
Who gives a shit what they are parroting?! I'm saying, logical thinking typically states if a coach goes winless or wins one or two games in his third season on the job, then it's grounds for firing.
Except that recruiting is getting better, and the team losing personnel was unfortunate, with the short bench. Mullin has to come back next season. Otherwise it's another full reboot, guaranteed. If he comes back next year there is a shot at normalcy. Of he stinks again, and again, then he's gone at the end of year 5.
Recruiting is decent, IMO. Let's say it can get better. Maybe, if the other staff members (outside of one) worked a bit more harder and diligently on the recruiting trail, then it could be better.
Auburn has a short bench. Villanova has a short bench. The short bench argument only goes so far. The bench is short because of the staff not working hard enough.
Dude, if we go 0-18, 1-17, or 2-16.... There could be a chance where we're rebooting anyhow. He'll get his 4th season, but that doesn't mean it's deserved. He only should receive a 5th season, if (and only IF) we make the NCAA Tournament. Otherwise, he should be served his walking papers.
