Unless Jordan Brown or another person who will take Tariqs starting spot are coming then this is hard to understand. Tariq plays hard and has had some really nice games. Hes a flawed player who struggled to rebound and score at times but he always bring the effort. He developed and a decent jumper and had some nice upside for next season. He was in line for a lot of minutes on what should be a good team. Just feel like we are missing something here.
As flawed as Tariq's game may be there are elements that he does bring that we will not be able to replace. We will not even be able to replace the area's of his game that needs improvement. Should he transfer, how anyone cannot see that as a big blow to our potential success next year given the current state of our roster isn't paying attention.
As one poster mentioned everyone is playing out of position. Clark is a 3, Owens is a stretch 4. Part of the success we had when Ponds was out is that it forced Mullin to play them at the positions they are meant to play. If Owens returns, a starting line up of Keita, Owens, Clark, Simon, and Ponds would be very competitive. With Dixon, Williams, and hopefully another quality big soon to be added we will have the talent and depth to compete. Staff needs to recruit better.
