Have gotten to know SJU79 a bit. Great guy, highly knowledgeable and willing to share what he can. To me he is an asset to the Board,

Absolutely.   It's incredible how people get yelled at sometimes for posting their info.  It will dilute the value of this board if that keeps happening.

Lol this is a good one. The info on these boards is a fraction of what it was when Maven and others were around. We get commits like LJ Figuerora out of thin air now. The last time we had consistent info was a brief period when Lavin first took over and Tony Chiles would spill his guts to anyone and everyone over text and Facebook until Lavin put a gag order on him.

All info now comes from one direction: Matt A. Mullin doesn't give away anything and St. Jean and Ritchmond have no connections to the fans.

What I can tell you for a FACT is one of the teams he worked out for was blown away about how certain aspects of his game arent EVEN CLOSE to NBA ready. They were actually stunned. .

Did they say which certain aspects? I'd guess that he's a poor defender, a haphazard shooter, and lacks size and strength. All of those except size seem remediable.

Careful celebrating Maven...

The world has changed. The recruiting landscape has changed. I'm in the trenches of this world and ya know what? Some posters here actually know some things make me question, "how do the know that?"

I really appreciate the information others share whether it's intel, opinion, or youtube analysis.

I firmly believe news breaks on these boards quicker than anywhere else when it comes to this program. It's been happening for the past decade which is crazy to think about.

I do want to comment directly to a few of your remarks.

1. News of the program comes from a lot of places. From managers to people who work for athletics to people who dorm with the players. This is common across a ton of programs. I know it's fun to place too much credit to Matt A because he's on twitter.

2. A commit like LJ Figuerora is something that caught me off guard. I was in Dallas on the recruiting trail when it broke and was surprised. However as surprised as I was by the timing I was not of the result. Staff has been on him since July of 2016 when Mullin, St. Jean, and Matt all watched him at UA All-America camp. All were impressed with him and they immediately offered same day. This was one of Mullin's first recruiting events and he followed LJ from court to court all day.

3. I'm not sure of the day Tony Chiles ever did what you suggested nor did Lavin ever put a gag on anyone besides players on social media.

4. Really enjoy and respect your passion and what you bring to this website so don't bust out that jujitsu on me. Save it for Syracuse fans.

Wasn't Shamorie supposed to decide this weekend? Everytime I see a new post on this thread my heart skips a beat.

I believe players have until May 30 to make their decision to withdraw from the draft or not.

None of them were top 100 players, none were named National Player of the Week, none of them were in mock drafts or worked out  by NBA teams as 19 year olds, none of them were good enough to even if sniff 1st team all Big East as a soph, none of them were half as good as Ponds. None of them ever appeared on a single mock draft.

Can you be more specific please? Just admit your info is shit and move along on this. Shamorie Ponds has no chance to at missing a G League roster. The G league is awful.

Definitely worth arguing about who has superior college basketball fan message board info.

Shamorie Ponds will return to St. John's next season, per his father. Entered 2018 NBA Draft without an agent. #SJUBB
