Assuming Heron is eligible the top 7 rotation kids are easy: Ponds, Simon, Heron, Clark, Keita, LJ Figueroa and Dixon.  Quan is right Trimble will need to fend off Williams for the 8th spot.  But my guess is they both get some time initally for 8/9 spots.  Then Josh Roberts at 10.  I think Earlington at 11 (maybe even a redshirt candidate) and of course Wright and Caraher sitting out at 12 and 13.

If this thing works out good this year my guess is CM will want an 8 maybe 9 man rotation by February.

I think Earlington and/or Roberts will play over Trimble and Williams. Ponds, Simon, Heron and Dixon are a lot of minutes to divvy up as it is.

Feel like Dixon, Williams, and Trimble will be divvying up minutes out of the same pool.  ~40 mpg for the three.

I'd be concerned if Dixon who is technically a junior, has to share minutes with Williams, a freshman. Trimble needs to become a different player in order to get minutes if Heron is allowed to play. Trimble certainly had moments as a three point shooter, but there needs to be a significant commitment to his conditioning this summer so he's not just able to do one thing.

Trimble was beyond lost on defense last year. He is going to have to be much better. Man to man shouldn’t be that hard.
Hopefully a year in college makes things easier.

200 Minutes per game to spread out. If Heron eligible it could end up being something like this once BE rolls around and the cupcakes are out of the way:

Ponds: 34 MPG
Heron: 32
Simon: 30
Clark: 28
Keita: 25
LJ Fig: 15
Dixon: 12
Trimble: 10
Williams:8
Roberts/Earlington: 6 combined

I could be and probably will be way off on this but as of now this is how I see the breakdown for now. Lots of small ball

Doesn’t look bad. Can Keita play 25 minutes a game?

LJ probably the better player, but Keita the only player on the team at that position

Think Clark more like 25 and Keita more like 22. That’s a lot to do with foul issues/our roster/Mullins style. Would Be great if Ponds didn’t have to play 34 a game. Heron played 28 both last two season.

Personally I’d be surprised if either Dixon or LJ averaged less than 18 minutes a game. Too skilled

I would play ponds, heron, and Simon as many minutes as necessary. They are that good. Plenty of time for rest in blowouts.

We're not Nova, but I can see our minutes being somewhat equally concentrated and having more than a few in the 28-32 range.

Nova's top 6 averaged between 27.4 & 31.2 min/game

Bridges: 32.1
Brunson: 31.8
Paschall: 29.8
DiVincenzo: 29.3
Spellman: 28.1
Booth: 27.4

Next up: Gillespie @ 14.4 and Cosby Roundtree @ 11.3

I think MPG averages are skewed by blowouts and whatnot so not really a good indicator of what it would look like in a 3 game stretch vs 3 good BE teams in Feb which is kind of what I was trying to project. That said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the minutes distribution ends up being more condensed at least from Clark on down and it would be great if LJ and Dixon prove to be the goods to the point they have to get more mins.

Move Trimble to 0 min. Dixon up to 22, Keita down to 20, LJ up to 20

I think you'll see a lot of small lineups at stretches with Clark at the 5 and Simon/LJ/Heron at 4. I think Josh Roberts comes in and plays serviceable mins to spill Keita.

Trimble probably last guard off the bench. Or elsewhere

With all of the athletic guards/forwards we will have this year with the ability to penetrate (Ponds, Heron, Simon, Figueroa), I would like to see Trimble get minutes. It's possible that he is the best spot up shooter on the team and could find himself wide open off of penetration and help defense.

I think Roberts/Earlington wil see 6-8 minutes each in many games for the size factor though I agree small ball will be emphasized.  Trimble will get some minutes, particularly if he is in better shape.

and with all of those guys ability to slash to the hoop it will lead hopefully to offensive rebound put back opportunities for guys like Keita.

Trimble is going to have to learn to move without the ball. He showed a nice stroke when able to find his shot and pretty good range but it isn't hard to guard a guy that grows roots.

I wouldn't be terribly upset if he redshirts but he seems like good injury/foul trouble insurance and there should be more to his game than what we saw last year.

But man is it nice to be able to talk about the 9-11th guys off the bench.

I like Trimble and think he can serve a role but he needs better conditioning. I don't get the impression his work ethic matches team expectations.

I wouldn't worry about Roberts / Earlington getting a run. Subtract that and add 5 - 7 minutes to Figueroa.
