Pick 1 thing to improve this offseason

If you could change 1 thing about program, player, facilities, whatever. What would it be? Can only be ONE thing. (I know we all have a lot of things  :2funny: )

Ponds returns.  But, let's assume that happens:

An AC to compliment Matt and St. Jean that provides experience with in-game decisions, game planning and overall program management but can also assist on the recruiting trail.

An experienced sideline coach who can also recruit a bit.

I will beat the board of directors who hired this POS coaching staff with crow bars until they are unable to identify me in a line up.

Also, I would set fire to the current snack bar. This way, when they complain about it being the best they can do, I can then remind them that they’ve even failed at that because it’s been burned down.

AC. Because that has 2 meanings. Another assistant coach who can recruit and Air Conditioning for Carnesseca Arena

our home schedule needs to improve. More garden games against more interesting opponents.
The holiday festival is a joke. Princeton?
Need to get a big state school who travel instead. Need to add old big east schools to schedule. Uconn and Syracuse will sell out. Nd and West Virginia would be decent.
Could easily add 2 Of those games to schedule every year without making schedule that much harder.

I'd like to see SJ recruit some fans who can count to "1."

Ponds defense.  Play solid D instead of going for steals all the time.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

Agree with MCNPA. Our record period. How that is accomplished doesn't interest me except that it must be within current NCAA rules.

The only thing the fans can improve upon is to be a little more upbeat.  This is college sports and as such doesn't mean that much.  It's a game...

Height. Need the grad transfer big, offensive and defensive rebounding margins were embarrassing last season.

Recruiting, recruiting and recruiting.

Whether that improves with a staff change, better results on the floor or combo of both.   But the 4 year talent level needs to improve significantly if we ever want to be competitively where we initially thought we would be at this point when CM was hired 3 years ago.

Bench quality

I think 1-5 St. John's a tournament level team (assuming Shamorie is back). I think where the team stumbled is when Yakwe, Amar, and Trimble would enter the game. Amar was good for giving up 3 layups and generally at critical times in the game. Simply can't have that drop off.

I think Dixon, Williams, Keita, Figueroa, Roberts, Earington offer something that simply wasn't a luxury last year. Going to need the transfers to not play like freshman and our freshman have an impact.

If last year's team had a physical, consistent rebounder/defender, our record would look a lot different.
