A longer season that extends past the Big East tournament.

Bench quality

I think 1-5 St. John's a tournament level team (assuming Shamorie is back). I think where the team stumbled is when Yakwe, Amar, and Trimble would enter the game. Amar was good for giving up 3 layups and generally at critical times in the game. Simply can't have that drop off.

I think Dixon, Williams, Keita, Figueroa, Roberts, Earington offer something that simply wasn't a luxury last year. Going to need the transfers to not play like freshman and our freshman have an impact.

I think that is a different way of saying the same thing I said.  Better recruiting meaning more high grade talent and less reliance on transfers means a deeper bench.

Approach.  A true commitment to defense and the boards. Especially on offense. This a 25 win team with Simon/Clark/Figueroa/Keita playing volleyball when three guys follow Ponds to the basket.

Would like them to improve their perimeter defense and rebounding which will allow them to get out in the open court where they excel.

How about another recruiter, instead of just Matt recruiting.

Haha...but even some fans find a way to complain about possibly adding an all SEC player.

10th, 9th, and 9th. Plenty of reasons to be unhappy. Maybe we could hold off celebrations until this all sec player transfers to us, shows up, cleared to play, and actually plays well.

Another recruiter.  Recruiting cures all.

All the more reason to be happy that we might get a good player.  But you go ahead and stay miserable

Excited that we may get a really good player. Won’t be happy until it happens.

Coaching you would think we would practice how to attack zones and execute plays out of timeouts. We have depth this year substituting will be important.

I think our zone attack has been pretty good and same with out of bounds plays.  Defensive rebounding was a huge problem and we have the athletes to rebound collectively despite a size disadvantage.  Ditto for offensive rebounding; Simon and Clark have the size and athletic ability to be force in that area.

Out of bounds plays have been outstanding. Zone offense at times have been really good. At times awful. Marquette played a terrible zone, we couldn’t score at all.
One thing that should be as much of a problem should be shot selection. We (hopefully) have better players, no more 3’s by Owens or Amar (Thank god). Ahmed was better as season went on, but he took some bad shots in his 2 years.

I’d like to see a little more fire out of Mullin. He’s quick to get on the refs, but I rarely (if ever) would see him scold the players for in-game lapses. I just feel like he needs to be the guy to hold players accountable, not St. Jean.

Also our perimeter defense.

Better defense and Mully’s use of Time Outs.

I wonder if Owens regrets transferring. Imagine this team with him returning.
