AD Anton Goff has resigned

St. John's is in the market for a new AD. Anton Goff has resigned, citing "family reason," #sjubb. Was here two years.

Loved his energy and enthusiasm, worked hard to try and make us relevant. Wonder what happened.

Frustrating to say the least...Waiting for a time where something in this program isn’t in constant flux.

He was a nice guy. Seemed to be very into the job

I just hope we cut ties and don't have some sort of unknown scandal. Lets hope we make a quick swift hire and don't have an interim mess for a whole year.

Hard to do without football revenue. We just can’t compete financially. Someone with a successful track record at a big-time program won’t even look our way.

But seriously--what does the AD do?  Compliance; manage budgets and facilities; fund raise?  What is the main function and that is skill set that should determine hiree.

This does seem odd because he was so excited to come to St.John's. I wonder if he wanted to make a staff change, and was told to stay out of it. If that is the case, then resigning is the right move. An AD has to be the director of the athletic department. The inmates can't run the asylum.

He seems to change jobs about every three years.

Spoke to him briefly a few times. He seemed very behind Mullin. Don’t think that was an issue.

To be fair if there were an issue between the two he would not have shared that with you.

I know. But he seemed over the top behind mullin. I don’t know the guy. Spoke to him for maybe 5 minutes. That was the impression that I got.
