Coverage. Things he highlights. Picking on players, staff, fans etc. He did it to Hollywood when they wouldn't leak to him or give him access to Phillie (which was a wise decision) etc. and did it somewhat to Coach Mullin last year. Like it was his fault his point guard quit and blindsided his plan. Hope I'm wrong and Congrats to team on getting their stud eligible and to Zags on breaking the news.
Last season is entirely on Mullin. Anyone that can’t see that doesn’t understand what a coach’s responsibilities are. If Zach “picks” on us, the program will have earned it.
This attitude that it’s always someone else’s fault is a St.John’s tradition. The only one they’ve upheld all these years.
Yeah! Zach has been waaay to nice to mullin.
He was waaay to nice to Mullin because he was receiving inside info. He was waaay to hard on lavin because that regime didn't give him shit. He's a self serving ass who only cares about his access and not the betterment of the program. Unfortunately a lot of the #sjubb twitter folk take everything he says at face value because they look at him as a fellow fan of the team instead of a very biased reporter.
Kudos to zags. Met him a few times at different hs events in Philly area and he was always a gentleman to us. Preferred to be called Adam instead of Mr. Zagoria.
I think it was reasonable to be nice to Mullin the first two seasons. Frankly, the press has been nice to everyone in the first two seasons except for Mahoney.
In terms of objectivity, Zach ripped into Mullin’s coaching last year. I don’t how anyone can determine that he’s self serving just by following Tweets and reading the occasional NY Post article.
I remember when Norm first started the press was really easy on him. They didn’t utter a bad word for two years because they barely uttered anything about us. Our basketball wasn’t even considered worthy of coverage.
After experiencing that level of insignificance I value Zach’s coverage of STJ. Heron isn’t on the court. Let’s hold off on the champagne until it’s in ink. Maybe Zach has good reason to keep it on ice. Lest we forget that both Sanchez’s and LoVett’s eligibility were right about to happen.
Also, let’s not forget that in these cases, we’ve blamed the NCAA and then later on blamed the kid. Why isn’t the St.John’s coach at fault?
